Antony Star has given a very small tease of what Homelander is going to be like next season. He says he's going to be out for revenge, and that he'll be a homicidal maniac.
The "I can do whatever I want" scene was actually originally cut from Season 1. It was it was going to be part of episode 2, but Amazon made them cut it because they thought it was "to extreme". Apparently they must have changed their minds somewhere between the beginning of Season 1 and the end of Season 2.

In a recent interview, Eric Kripke revealed that next season The Deep is going to be fighting against The Church of the Collective. He compared him to Leah Remini and the way she is now fighting against Scientology.
He also revealed that they have purposefully been involving him in different popular trends, first it was #MeToo, and then they decided to have him "be like Alison Mack and go join a cult".

Really looks different to me with a beard.
I'm happier this guy looks serious, as opposed to the utter joke he was in the comics.
But then again, the comic version was because Ennis hated Captain America due to his lack of research into the character.
I dare to say that the whole tv show is better than the comics version.
It is, the comics was too entrenched in Ennis over-indulging himself to the point it lost meaningful commentary and the art was terrible.
Oh well, I liked the art. It was the perfect complementary to Ennis's script
