I think the funniest part was Sheldons reaction. I didn't expect it. Sheldons character is a big Nimoy fan so I was expecting a classic Nimoy Spock wearing the blue science shirt and giving the LLAP hand gesture. When the camera pans back to Sheldon and Zachary Quinto is stand there the look on Sheldons face is priceless.

Yeah I love it. The clip I attached is the first mention of ST09. Sheldon is a huge Spock fan and in an earlier episode dressed as the TOS version of Spock. I saw the episode that this clip came from a few days ago for the first time and I laughed so hard. I truly just expected a blue science officer outfit and Sheldon geeking out more. When the showed the Quinto cutout and the look on Sheldons face it was priceless. Excellent scene.

The implication being that if one does not laugh, one is either not a Real Star Trek Fan™ or has no sense of humor? An interesting wrinkle.

Regarding the clip:

TBBT has amusing moments, but it was never as brilliant as it was once made out to be and sometimes its a bit painful.

This also isn't current - the clip was uploaded in January of 2012, when the episode originally aired.

It's also not really a fit for this forum, but since there were references to both Nimoy Spock and Quinto Spock, I let it ride for a day under the "slim tangential relevance" statute.

I found this part telling, though:
