The awful consequences whenever Macleod dies.

Whenever Duncan Macleod was killed in the series he would suffer from a really bad side effect of dying. All his muscles would completely relax. He would shit his pants. He would piss himself. So whenever he kicked off, like in the courthouse episode of the first season, he would be walking around with a huge load of crap in his pants. There is no way he could have snuck up on those goons. They would be saying stuff like, "Who shit?" whenever he got close.

I prefer the movie way. Conner Macleod doesn't die at all. He doesn't even lose consciousness, even when he is submerged in water or when he is shot repeatedly.

I agree; if an Immortal were stabbed through the heart they would 'die' albeit temporarily, but the time dead would be more than long enough for their opponent to take their head; none of that for Connor.

I actually prefer the way the series does it (though I have to say I never considered the losing control of one's bowels when you die ), it adds a level of vulnerability to the Immortals. Plus it's a great tactic for the more cowardly/evil Immies.
