The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

My first Shelf Avengers post in almost two months! Clint and Tasha found a sailboat for Little Clint and Little Tasha!

That boat actually belongs to a doll- one I'm getting ready to put on ebay. So the kids don't get to play with it for long. :p

Review videos for upcoming 6" Black Series figures! Tatooine Farmboy Luke Skywalker, Kanan Jarrus from Rebels and the one and only Ahsoka Tano based on her appearance in the new animated series:

I can't find a decent 7 inch Black Widow.

The one by Hot Toys is what I consider a little pricey but man it does look excellent

I'm going to post pictures of my shelves of random stuff I have.

Not an action figure, and not really a toy either but it sort of fits here – my Christmas present to myself finally arrived. Custom manufactured to order by the guy who has supplied these to Universal Studios for their theme parks and the Jurassic park Blu-Ray comes:

Dennis Nedry's cryocan! Yes, now I too can steal InGen property with 72 hours of coolant.

It also came with some replica park brochures:

That is wickedly cool.

I don't have much as what I have is very random and most of the stuff on my shelf is 3D puzzles, which you will see when you see these pics. But I do have a few odds and ends which I love.

That replica of his cryocan is one of the coolest things I've seen all week. That's so neat! I never knew those existed and were marketed to the public until right now.

And custom-made for each order? No doubt. It wouldn't be a cheap impulse purchase, that's for sure.

It's also one of the last ones that will ever be made. Barbasol changed their can design back in 2013, after 60+ years of consistency, so the guy who does these opened orders to basically burn through the rest of his stock. I've had my eye on these for years, as the manufacturer would periodically surface and make them available; last year when he began taking orders again, I knew I had to get in on it because there may never be another chance. It was expensive (think Hot Toys expensive) but worth it.

@CaptainMurdock as usually you find the best things, and things I had no idea they even existed! So lovely.

Awesome! My Flash stands pretty well. In my first pic of him and Hal he's on one foot unassisted. Sorry you got one that's wobbly. I will say to be really careful with the wings on his head. I snapped one of them while turning his head. It's glued back, and you can't really tell unless you're looking for it. Still, a broken figure is a broken figure.
Thank you, I'll be careful! I also have glued some things but it is never the same, especially when the joint can't move anymore afterwards. Don't think I'll use the figure much though, as I was mainly interested in the prop. My friend demands that the Dark Archer also gets to try it out ;)
Maybe I can insert a piece of paper or something to make the ankle joint more stiff?

I also love all the new people in here showing their stuff, the more the merrier.

I also have so many new things to show that I don't know where to start. This is what I did today - the vest from "A private little war". I glued together fabric and leather stripes. Sewing did not work. The figure is not finished yet, I'll also do the pants and boots (and I just realized he misses the leather straps on his arms).

This is how I started out - the right Kirk was the Mirror Mirror Kirk, I just removed his golden vest:

Preparation - from watching the episode:

Guess what this will become?

It took a while finding out how much glue to apply so it would hold but not leave stain marks:

Here you can see that simply painting the lines would not have been an option:

That's very dedicated and impressive customizing work. It looks like the vest he wore in the episode!

Thanks, I didn't even know it existed until recently. My mom gave me the idea to look for diner themed toys as she loves retro diners so this was the result of that. :) Great custom Kirk figure too. Diamond Select Toys could really use you on their design staff. ;)

Another update. Still need to make 2 more step trays for the MU area but I finally got all of these to stay standing long enough to take pics.

This is maybe 90% of my MU.

CCC.

I always wonder about dusting with the collections presented like this ;)
Mine are all kept in tin boxes and only allowed out for playing.

Thank you! I also got a Big Foot figure which I will turn into a Mugato. Stay tuned!

I also got to play with the new 5" Sherlock figure today. I totally had forgotten that this came out in December. I hope there will be more in this line.

I finally found a 6" Black Series Emperor Palpatine this afternoon and for a reasonable price at my friend's local toy shop. I also picked up the 6" Black Series Chewbacca (Original Trilogy version) since he'd gone down in price and my friend let me have a great deal on him.

I finally opened up another puzzle. This was a globe of the world. 60 piece 3D puzzle. Pieces made of hard plastic.

The figure behind the globe is the elf queen I posted a page or two back, nicely hand painted figure.

The Sherlock is really very new, just came out in December. I was actually waiting for it after the announcement half a year ago, but only last week remembered that I wanted to order it. It is the same 5" size like the Doctor Who or Torchwood figures, so it will not fit with 7" figures like Star Trek. (unless you were talking about the "real" Sherlock Holmes? There are lots of historical action figures also, Beethoven, Oskar Wilde, Casanova, van Gogh, Sigmund Freud and many more)

I hope that if the Sherlock sells well that there will be more in this line, certainly we also need a John Watson! I do have the pair in 12" from Big Chief Studios also, but they are a bit more expensive
