The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

It's been a while since I've posted. Life has been crazy. I've moved to a new city, sold quite a bit of my collection away, and am generally less active in the hobby than I was before.

So what could be bringing me back to this board, and to this thread in particular? Oh.....this!
:D
Welcome back! I'm new to the thread but have heard lots about you already. I am looking forward to see your pictures. I love the one you posted!

Originally I didn't post the following pictures in here, as they are not a real comic story like the others I did before but merely figures standing around. But people seem to have taken a liking to them on Tumblr and why not. Now that I have a proper Indiana Jones I can do a crossover with him and Daniel Jackson one day.

These pictures were done in Summer when I visited a friend. The crystal skull belongs to her and the background was a painting hanging on her wall. I forgot to bring the P-90 so Jack had to borrow the phaser gun from Kirk. He was happy to try out a new weapon.

OdoWan's back, and brought a new Twelve Days of Christmas toy adventure with him? This thread never ceases to be fun and awesome, whether it's the Holidays or not.

Welcome back, man! You and your pictures were sorely missed!

Awww, you all know how to make a guy feel special. :)

I recognize that crystal skull. It was part of a Best Buy DVD set. I used to have it, but sold it along with my Sideshow Indy Premium Format.

So, just to prove that this wasn't a passing fancy, here's day two

Got my Christmas Doll Tree up today! Loads of mini American Girl dolls, and the big dolls and other toys all over the place.

Ooh! Are we getting all twelve days? Cool! That last post will be a long one then :D

What a great decoration all over the house. Even Marge has made herself festive.
And I have a similar music box! I just looked, it's not the exact same, but similar. Mine plays "Only you". You can see it in this picture: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q227/DieAstra/PPP Doctor Who/The Doctor in Dresden/flat1.jpg

Today is December 6th, that means it is Nikolaus (Saint Nicholas) Day in Germany. Don't know if other countries celebrate it as well. On the evening of December 5th, children are supposed to polish their shoes and then put them outside the door. The next morning, they will find them filled with sweets and nuts and an orange possibly. But if they weren't polished, you might find coal ;) You also put your Christmas wish list into it and then the Nikolaus will give it to Santa Claus.

The Doctor thought he would be clever in putting all shoes out he has and thus receiving more than his fair share of sweets.

He even put on an apron to not make his shirt dirty.

He really has a lot of shoes!

Doctor, watch out, the shoepolish is leaking!

And there is his Christmas wish list.

Wonder what he wants? I can't read much more than "Dear Santa,"

Wonder whether he realy will get that many sweets? Maybe I'll do a conclusion next year ;)

Silly Doctor, how is Santa going to put presents in sandals?

Indeed, there will be twelve days. This is actually the third time I've done this. The other ones can be found much earlier in the thread. This year is the hardest of all, if I'm trying to not reuse stuff I have before.

Desperate times call for desperate measures :D

I'm sorry, I hadn't even realized yesterday that the second pic with the space tree included the Tyrions as well. Only today with the added Daleks I noticed. This is awesome!
So the last post will not just be a very long one but the last picture also a very crowded one ;)

I did go back to the beginning of the thread and made it through the first 50 pages or so, but sadly all your pics come up as unavailable :( I'll happily read on if that changes later but I figured maybe you switched the place where you uploaded them and so the old links won't work anymore?

I am sorry if I missed them. I only became a Star Trek fan this year, that's why I am so late in here. Could I probably interest you in some of the Star Trek ones I posted in the past few weeks?

Your dioramas are impressive, as is your torn shirt Kirk custom. I lack to skill to do any of that. You'regonna fit right in on this thread.

I know most of my old collection pics are gone. I deleted a lot of outdated stuff. My previous 12 days should still be around, though. I'll see if I can't dig them up later.

It'd be cool to see all those old Christmas pics again. I know you probably have them all archived on your Facebook page but it'll be great if they can be reposted in this thread for those who don't have FB accounts.

Thank you! I am thankful I got welcomed here with such open arms. As interesting as it is to read them, I can’t add much to proper Trek discussions with people who do this already for decades, and I don’t feel like telling everyone what I eat and drink in the silly games corner, but I feel right at home in this corner of the forum. Love all you guys and your stuff! It’s also opening my eyes to toys and figures I would otherwise never hear about.

I found the one from 2013! Love it!

Something new from me as well:
For the past weeks there has been a meme about this season’s Doctor Who theme "Like a hybrid" on Tumblr. This entry has collected some of the funny ones:

http://alumfelga.livejournal.com/6658.html

Of course I wanted to take part as well. This was the first that came to my mind:

That looks great!

You guys make this place a lot more fun. Thanks for posting all these diorama, comic strip and Holiday pics and keep 'em comin'!

Certainly a far more upbeat and "positive" thread than MANY upon this board!

Sincerely,

Bill

You want more? I can give you more. I have tons of Doctor Who stuff I haven't touched yet. If you don't mind. How about this one?

I had to repair the broken shoulder joint of the Eleventh Doctor. Since I had to take his clothes off for the operation, this happened. The Tenth Doctor is NOT the Big Chief Studios Doctor. But this one is undressed more easily (I would never be able to re-tie the tie of the Big Chief Ten), plus he has feet which he proudly shows off.

The hairdryer is an eraser, the comb was in a fire cracker last New Year’s eve, the razor I once got with some Barbie stuff. The towels around their hips are wash clothes. My wash clothes. Can I have them back now guys?

After getting some funny feedback for the bathtub pictures, I did two more pics with those suggestions. They asked about Jack.

They're little gifts that keep on giving the whole season, aren't they? Love 'em!
