I was looking through the StarWars.com article about last night's announcements, and I noticed it say High Republic, not Old Republic. This makes me wonder if it might be close to the same time as the High Republic books and comics.

Ok, for the uninitiated... is there some canon star wars timeline somewhere? New republic, old republic, high republic, children of the forest, it's all just sounds like some made up names. Is there a specific timeline that I should be aware of before jumping into this new SW Shared Universe?

"Old Republic" refers to several thousand years prior to Phantom Menace. "High Republic" is a few hundred years prior to Phantom Menace. "New Republic" is between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
