The 82nd Annual Academy Awards - discussion thread

Avatar was more of a crowd-pleaser and had the best FX ever but District 9 had a better story and a better movie.

I was quite impressed with how they blended the FX into the real world in D9, especially for the budget.

Agreed.

That FX looked like it cost a lot more than the $30 million dollar budget. The scenary was great.

Agreed. D-9 had some of the most photorealistic CGI I've seen in a movie. I was astounded by the innovation they showed on such a relatively small budget.

Yep Avatar had a shit ton of money and a decade's worth of time thrown at it, and it's CG characters couldn't even approach District 9's.
 
Oh shut up Oprah... I'm gonna listen to some Guns and Roses for a minute. Sweet Child of Mine is enough to drown her out.
