I'm currently seeing 4,988,510 posts with 23,530 board members.

^That does appear to be where the discrepancy exists...interesting! I have been referencing the stats box on the top right of every page, which says that there are 4,988,796 posts.

5,000,000 Posts. In Canada it would take 5,208,000 to reach the same milestone. Oh, those message board exchange rates.

Doh! I've been reading the numbers at bottom. Never even noticed the ones top right. So do we know which ones are more accurate? Sounds like consensus is to use top right numbers.
Currently: 4,989,700
This thread was begun three weeks ago on the 4th of October and in that time the board has added roughly 50,000 posts in all forums. That's about 50,000 in twenty-one days and we're still about 10,000 away from the milestone, so at the current rate we'll probably hit 5 million in about, oh, four days.
Why on Earth would the counts be different? Makes no sense. What have I missed?
Who knows what anyone misses! The target will be reached soon.

We'll be able to tell our grandchildren and great-granchildren where we were the day the Trek BBS hit the 5,000,000-post mark. And our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will then pat us on our heads, go "cool story" and distract us with something shiny while they sneak out of the room.
