Terran Vampires, and how could you explain Sarek and Amanda?

This is kind of negated because MU Georgiou had Michael pick a Kelpian from among the slaves, and then that Kelpian wound up on the dinner table. Maybe that's just one of MU Georgiou's eccentricities as a powerful despot with unlimited resources, or a practice of the imperial household.

She is like Idi Amin, he was known for eating his enemies. Real life despots do not need a reason for crossing the line of inhumane behaviour. They do things because they can.

On a side note, as an Asian-American, I found the image of an Asian mother lovingly giving her kid a favored morsel of bizarre non-food with chopsticks to be somewhat questionable. :wtf:

We have a very long history of Human Beings doing horrible things to other human beings, and to creatures that are considered to be inferior.
Especially by people in power with absolute control over things.
It's no surprise to me when it's used to show how evil people can be in our entertainment media.

In cultures where dog is consumed, it's usually just certain breeds that are kept specifically for that purpose. Fido and Fifi don't become dinner. Likewise, I would think that generally, certain Kelpians would be trained to work as slaves, and others would be kept for food. Or Kelpians who get too old to continue working then become food.

Empires sometimes adopt cultural aspects from their conquered states. Rome adopted much of its culture from the Greeks, it's tech from everyone, and after resisting it for few centuries, its Christianity from the east.

I figure they picked up eating sentient beings off the Klingons.
