Terminator VI

It’s not the age group it’s the quality of the writing and the story. They milked the franchise dry and they thought they could diversify it up and change the original premise. No one is buying it this time. They wrecked Star Wars because they worried more about casting instead of story. Killing off original heroes in a crappy way tends to tick fans of the series off.

I'd tell you where to shove your alt-right bullshit but i don't want to get banned.

They are trying to send us messages politically, diversity etc. I want to go to a movie to enjoy myself not to be hit over the head with an agenda.
Meanwhile, I just wanted to read a genre movie thread where a woman is cast in a traditionally male role and it didn't result in fragile man tears and whining about the scourge of diversity, but such is life.

Alt right? What are you talking about?

if they had changed blade(my favorite vampire movie by the way)to a white guy I would be just as ticked off.

Lucas based the emperor on Nixon, used the Vietnam war as his inspiration for the idea of a rag tag army defeating a superior military force, explicitly told Terence Stamp that Chancellor Valorum was like Bill Clinton circa his impeachment and used the patriot act as his model for Palpatine’s power grab in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. But yeah, goddamn those new filmmakers for introducing politics into Star Wars.

So post a link of Lucas saying he got the idea for Star Wars from Vietnam and Nixon. As I remember he lifted the story from a kurosawa film. Even if he did he didn’t hit us over the head with a message like TLJ felt it needed to do.

Can we please watch the spoilers in this thread. I had thought this was a safe thread to come to get an overall feel for what people were thinking of it without having to worry about spoilers.

Not in the same vein as saying “ Hey rich people are evil and abuse animals”. Where was the inspiration for that. Also he borrowed more from nazi Germany then anything else especially the uniforms. I don’t see Nixon in the emperor at all.

Lucas literally says he based him on Nixon. I mean, this is the actual guy who created the saga. But what would he know?

its just ridiculous guy. Hollywood is pandering and it smacks of racism. There are already loads of diverse characters out there that are established. It’s doing a disservice to everyone by killing off hero’s in established series’s to bring on new so called diverse ones. So dumb.

Furlong was arrested again in May 2013 for assaulting his girlfriend and avoided a further prison sentence after agreeing to five years’ probation, going to rehab for drug addiction for 90 days, and to undergo 52 weeks of domestic violence counselling. He had already served 61 days in jail.[28]

His probation "may" have ended in May 2018... or he could have mucked up. It's difficult to leave the state... Were they actually filming in Mexico? It's impossible to leave the country when you are on probation. (Google) Ed did violate probation, and served 6 months in jail, later in 2013, so he could be still on probation "now" becuase he's been working on the out side after 2013, so he's probably not in jail right now, maybe.

Does anyone really want to work with this guy?

What about Nick Stahl, or Thomas Dekker?

Meh.

He said it much later on in 1981. He was looking more to Hitler when he made the movies. Hitler exterminated jews palpatine exterminated Jedi. Still he didn’t hit us over the head with an actual message like Johnson felt he had to do.

So for me, it was
Temrinator 2
Terminator 1

Dark Fate -- It did a great job giving Sarah a logical arc, and shifting the future in ways, now looking back, make some sense. Also interesting how Arnold's Terminator did NOT need human reprogramming

Genesys - i thought it was inline with other reboots, like Star Trek. I thought Emilia Clarke made a great Sarah Connor, given the re-written history. Lots of problems, like Jai Courtney and what they did to John..but overall seemed to move things for a new generation.

I guess Rise of the Machine only second to last because they had some good call backs, especially Earl Boen's gues appearance, and set up the war with the machines.

Terminator Salvation i had last because it just felt overblown but not going anywhere... John COnnor getting a heart transplat seems dumb...i would actually prefer that he had John's face transplanted... could've been them studying how Terminators were made...also could easily explain the scars that JOhn had in the original movie. WOuld've been more logical. Did they even have John holding his mom's photo? That would've been nice for Sam's character to to have learned about.... oh, and no mention of John's girlfriend in T3?

By the way, where does Sarah Connor Chronicles fit into this?

Kate Brewster was played by Claire Danes in T3 and by Bryce Dallas Howard in Terminator Salvation. It’s obviously the same character. Both redheads named Kate.

At least Salvation build on T3. While Genisys has no connection with anything.
