Terminator VI

I've seen Io9 give some pretty negative reviews, so they're not afraid to be honest if their people don't like something.
Reviews are different from Twitter reactions to early screenings. In most cases, such reactions do seem to avoid saying anything negative, so one can read between the lines a bit. That said, while I can't say the same for the other reviewers quoted there, I've been reading IGN's Jim Vejvoda for a long time, and trust him to be pretty honest in this circumstance. He says the movie succeeds creatively, and is better than 3-5, but he doesn't claim it's on the level of T1/2. That part will likely come in his full review.

James Cameron has said that they worked out a plot for three movies while they were developing Dark Fate. It sounds like if they make it to the third one it could be the end of the franchise. He says that they have been "kicking the can down the road" when it comes to the conflict between humans and AI, but you can only do that so many times before you need to hit a resolution, and the third movie, if it happens, would resolve that conflict.

Didn't they say the same with ''Genesys ''?
Being the first of a new trilogy?

I think it might have been, but it seems like every movie is these days.

Just saw it this evening.
Some things I liked, some I didn't. One I just really didn't like. One was pretty silly and felt very hard to swallow.

It's alright... maybe a bit better than Genysis... a bit

All IMO of course, maybe others will love it. Can't say I'd be that bothered about whether it gets a sequel/trilogy though.

Oh, I didn't it was that soon in the US, I thought it was the 15 or somewhere around there.

Wait. Only a bit better than Genysis? Oh. No. That shouldn't be a hard bar to cross.
Better or worse than T3?

I'm one of the few who like Terminator Genisys, but the sequels after Judgment Day did start to get a little goofy with the Terminator model numbers. The T-1000 from the T-800 actually sounded like a badass upgrade. T-X was kind of a goofy designation, also didn't really make sense as you'd think a T-1000/T-800 hybrid would be called a T-1800. Genisys really outdid it with the T-3000 (robot zombie John Connor) and T-5000 (living embodiment of Skynet). Rev-9 actually sounds pretty cool compared to if they'd just made it the T-6000 or T-10000.

Also, glad to hear the movie is getting good reviews. I'm pretty stoked to see it :)

Few of you talking about this Rev-9 thing and other stuff. Just to say from someone who's seen the film they are explained and certain things revolve around the plot/backstory/futurestory, so just beware of spoilers before you see it. As they'll probably all be out there now.

There is no T800 in the TX. The endo is totally different.
Well, maybe not a T-800 hybrid. Could possibly have been a 700 or 900 endoskeleton in there. Either way, a T-1700 or T-1900 makes more sense than a T-X designation.
