I'm still fairly pessimistic given the franchise's history, but just on the strength of that trailer, I'm already more interested in this one that I've been in any of the others post T2.
One of the *VERY* few concepts I actually liked from the last one was the idea of old Arnie as a Terminator sent back to protect Sarah as a child, so I like that they seem to be continuing that thread here.
I also like that the protector this time out is female. Sarah was one of the original female action stars after all, so it's nice to see the series finally start to move forwards again in that regard (the "Terminatrix" always seems like a backwards step to me and they didn't even really do anything interesting with it.)

If she doesn't say "come with me if you want to live" in that scene, I will throw things at the screen.
Some interesting stuff in there, but nothing that really makes me any more anxious for the movie than I already was. Some cool stuff with Gabriel Luna's Terminator, and the reveal that Mackenzie Davis is a new hybrid sent to protect Natalie Reye's other hybrid was definitely not what I expect.
Looks like it's gonna suck, but I'll probably love it anyway.

The last movie I saw for the Terminator Franchise was Rise of the Machines. Salvation or Genisys didn't really motivate me. This might get me to see it because of Linda Hamilton but it does feel like a 2019 version of Terminator II.

The best part of the trailer was seeing Linda Hamilton and Arnold back. Everything else looked like a big rehash of the previous. The worst thing was the music in the trailer.
Speaking of Arnold he was at an event in South Africa over the weekend and some jerk/idiot ran up behind him and did a flying leap and kicked him right in the back. It was a pretty nasty kick but he barely moved afterwards. Still a rock.

Got agree. The movie looks bad. My theory is to make "Terminator" work as a movie it has to feel like a old school 80's movie and this just looks way to slick and modern with a overuse of CGI and all that stuff. I like MacKenzie Davis but I don't like the idea of another human/terminator hybrid.
Not even sure if it's R-rated either. If this is PG-13 you know it will suck. I did like seeing Hamilton again and she is the only one who looks like they should look in one of these movies and that is badass. Still if it's bad it doesn't matter. I wasn't expecting much from it and feel the franchise should have been retired by now, anyways.

The trailer doesn't look interesting.
More like the previous sequels with over the top Terminators, those CGI Terminators aren't even scary.
Only good thing so far is that Hamilton is back.

The TV show should have just been a multi-year epic show. The timeline was rewritten and there was no reason to return to the movies' convoluted chronology.
The tv show is one thing I could really get behind. I would be very open to bringing that back, even as a limited mini-series. I think I could maybe also get behind a Terminator movie with The Rock as a Terminator because he is basically the Arnold of this era. Put The Rock in a movie with Linda Hamilton looking like she does in this trailer. That might actually be awesome.

Yeah, not too terribly impressed with this trailer. Honestly, at this point, the whole franchise feels like it's in a Groundhog Day scenario. It keeps trying to rehash without really learning from previous mistakes. I think what this franchise really needs is a long break before moving on to the next movie.
Seems a combination of elements from Salvation and Genesis. My reaction to the trailer is total meh. The trailer itself is actually rather nicely done and well put together. Unfortunately, it's not leaving me very enthused for the movie.
Agreed. Whoever it is that covered "Hunter" did a horrible job. It's complete rubbish. Just use the Bjork version if you want to use that song.
I imagine it was a rights thing. Cheaper to cover it than to use the original.
I love Linda in that trailer and Arnie ... it was like seeing an old friend.
Man that guy drop kicking Arnie was just insane. He threw his entire weight at him and Arnold remained standing! Reckoned he thought it was just someone jostling him
I liked the trailer--all of it. I don't get the hate I'm seeing on YouTube and such. This looks better than T3 and T5 already.

Whoever wrote that was on crack. What I saw in the trailer was a lot more like the T-X, except with a new splitting ability. Also the black liquid metal effect looks a LOT better than the silver one from T2 and Genesys.

I'm kind of tired though of the liquid metal models. Give me a good old fashion robot with circuits and red eyes. If they want to change things up maybe make it's human appearance look non-threatening. Cast Jim Parsons and even give it a some built in humor jokes much like Arnold only in reverse in the first movie had a list of insults to say to pick from.
