Terminator VI

The T-800 is neither male nor female, despite outward appearances. And Sarah was still the main hero in that story.

Correct.

The terminator is a machine designed to mimic a human male, that does not make it either human or male.

Likewise when it adopts Sarahs' mothers' voice it doesn't suddenly become a human female merely by virtue of mimicking one.

The T-1000 likewise "gender swaps" throughout T2, which in no way detracts from the fact that it is a sexless machine.

Oh, I don't know. I was speaking in general. I'm just saying that it's possible it's happened, plus it's been shown in the UK first, right? Sometimes when movies aren't released at the same time, comments from earlier releases will influence later ones.

Those reviews seem, on the whole, to be fairly positive AFAICT. Certainly they haven't focused on the "wokeness" of the film or its' political agenda.

I do believe @DigificWriter might be closer to the more prosaic truth, that the franchise simply isn't the blockbuster it once was.

Of course opening weekends aren't the whole story and it may yet make a massive profit, who knows?

No it's not. Give it up, no one here is going to agree with you.
Lol! Doesn't matter if you agree most critics are now admitting to it. They went over board and now the series will be out to rest. This movie out did Genysis in failure so yeah it's done.

I'm not talking about the critics, but what you're saying about wokeness and pandering.
It's absolutely wrong. And I'd stop it before a mod does something about it (look at the last page)

So I'm going to stop responding now. Have fun in your box.

Admitting to what?

69% on RT and 6.6/10 on IMDB may not be glowing but it's not damning either. Roger Ebert gives 2/4 and makes it clear part of the issue isn't the film being "woke" (it praises it for that in fact) but the fact that the female leads require a male presence at the end despite their competence.

Roger Ebert? He died 6 years ago. So it requires a male figure? Yeah they killed him off at the beginning. Lol

Oh, right. Right. Wasn't implying anything of the sort :) I do agree that it might just be a tired franchise at this point.

Yeah it's the wokeness. Everyone knew it from the first previews and figured out John Connors Fate. Thankfully they can't make a sequel and the open ending will never ever be finished. Though Hollywood is liberal when it comes to media perception it's a business and all they really care about is the bottom dollar. A flop of this magnitude will change course.
For people who think that people don't like "woke" movies, I have four words for you, Black Panther and Captain Marvel.

TDF failed and you think it hasn't. Sorry but ignorant is you.

You could be mine but with this attitude you're way out of line.

Tanked? Maybe. But given that the last Terminator film didn't exactly do Star Wars Skywalker Saga numbers it's all relative. If it makes enough to justify another one then it won't have tanked, at least in the producers' eyes.

It's not my Terminator movie, TODD.

Star Wars made its money back this movie hasn’t. The only way to even save this franchise now is a full reboot but that will most likely fail. People are getting tired of all the reboots. It really is sad that these franchises are milked so much. Even Star Wars will be nearing a limit soon. I may have already reached mine.

^ Only one of the last 3 Terminator films was a reboot; the other two were continuations of the continuity that James Cameron started.

All 3 failed... which says that the problem is with the franchise itself.
