Spoilers Ted Lasso Season 3 Discussion

He was given a plot-reward girlfriend, despite not displaying any reason for her to like him and a history of acting like he should be entitled to one It's quintessential "incel" behavior, something straight out of an anime.

It's like the definition of rewarded for bad behavior. JFC, Jayson.

Saw something recently, where a woman said: All I want from a first date is some one who can carry a conversation, with good hygiene.

I am trying so hard to like this season. There are, IMO, too many instances where the writers of the show are writing political/social commentary blog posts and putting them in the mouths of the characters. My problem isn't that the show addresses social issues, and I am NOT someone whose politics will differ all that much from the show's point of view, but from an entertainment perspective, it is exhausting. The whole show grinds to a halt when the team or other characters filibuster about the pet issue of the episode.

I agree this season is not quite as good as in the past. Problem is everyone is so nice now and Ted also been in depressed funk the entire season. Also this is the shows last season so the romance with Keeley and Jack was a waste of time since this is the final season and you break them up in like 3 or 4 episodes. Meanwhile the more interesting new character is her assistant. Zarva was red herring that also went nowhere. It's still well written but they should be setting up closure and not adding new tangents at this point.

My concern with Barbara was that it could be another Dr Sharon type who started as looking like the bad guy but turned out to be nice.

This has been a very weak season - it's always had that "Afterschool special with swearing" vibe but it's got out of control. The way the episodes grind to a halt so the characters can explain the moral message is particularly bad.

I think they paid to much to fans talking about why they like the show and it went to their heads. Now they are trying to hard to capture the magic that came more naturally in season 1 and 2.

I think it's just lost a lot of its artistic edge. The show has always had its saccharine aftertaste, but there was always a spicy bite underneath. That's gone now.

This latest episode has quite the timing with their Super League subplot because of Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani's attempt to purchase Manchester United and do some sportswashing.

I just love this show for its unapologetic and unrealistic sweetness. I was a bit anxious when the season started because it felt like they lost a bit of their touch but ever since the Amsterdam episode i can't wait to see a new one and the current episode did not disappoint again ( Roy and Keeley!!)

They have started the Nate apology tour and boy, that will be THE speech when he finally apologizes to Ted, possibly in the season/show finale.

I'll be sad if it is indeed the last season but if it is i'll also be grateful that we got this show at all.

I liked the first season quite a bit, but got progressively more annoyed as season two went on. In season one, Ted was different from everyone else and that was why it worked for me, but in season two it felt like everyone was like Ted? Or they all felt like more one note versions of themselves from the first season (the Flanderisation thing.) It's entirely possible that I was just in a bad mood for most of season two though, as it most seemed to like it more than me. I've only watched the first episode of season 3 and thought it was pretty good, but it seems it's going to end up the same way season two felt for me. I'll watch it all eventually anyway.

I saw someone describe it as "a kids' show where they can say 'cunt.'" during season 2 and that didn't help my perception of it.

Didn't like the most recent episode. Way too over sentimental. They should rename the series to the Roy, Keeley, Nate and Rebecca show. Ted has little to do this season.

Yeah, the last episode Ted was in it for about 7 minutes. Both my wife and I think they're setting the show up to continue without Sudekis.

Lots of feels this week and I have to admit I got a bit misty a couple of times.

I've missed a plot point somewhere along the line, as I didn't recognize the two women who showed up at Rebecca's place toward the end.

The first one was Rupert’s new wife, and the second one was his assistant he was cuddling up to earlier this season, and who he mentioned that he fired last week.
