Teaser coming very soon?

This was reported by someone at AICN who has spoke to Karl Urban.

Urban also revealed that before the end of Comic-Con, footage from the STAR TREK sequel will land up on YouTube, so keep an eye out for that.

Now that the film is less than one year away, I can see us getting a teaser trailer soon. Teaser trailers don't necessarily need to give any plot information. The regular theatrical trailer would probably give away some general story details, but not necessarily a teaser trailer.

By the way, the teaser for Star Trek 2009 came out about 16 months prior to the film's opening.

You also have to remember when the teaser trailer came out Trek09 hadn't been pushed back 6 or 8 months yet.

I was thinking an actual "Theatrical Trailer" (with scenes from the film) would come out with one of the big Holiday films. I would think we could get a "Teaser Trailer" (without necessarily any scenes from the film) sooner than that.

It would be great to see some substantial movie trailer for Star Trek attached to The Hobbit, opening December 14, although I wouldn't be shocked if we didn't see anything until after the new year.

We'll get a proper trailer in November, perhaps with Skyfall. It was November 2008 that we got Trek XI's first proper trailer, and it was with Quantum of Solace.

^ I highly doubt that given that TNG-HD and the movie are run produced by separate companies (CBS and Paramount, respectively), but it would be a nice surprise.

Orci has some major time management problem. Remember how they always postponed the script deadline?

Huh? Bob Orci has absolutely no control over when the Paramount publicity department decrees that it's time to release a trailer, nor when Abrams is ready to direct his next movie.
