SyFy cancels Eureka

I'm shocked and saddened. Eureka is one of my favorite shows.

What's even sadder, for me, at least, is that if Blood and Chrome doesn't strike my fancy, I will now have absolutely no reason to watch SyFy.

Well, I guess the good news is that, unlike Stargate, Eureka, at least in my opinion, looks to be going out on a high note. There is something to be said for having five solid seasons versus five solid seasons and five mediocre ones.

The news also makes me realize that though I follow a good number of shows, Eureka is one of the few that actually really enjoy watching. It's not that I don't like the other shows, but Eurkea is just fun. It's one of the shows that, when I watch, I can't help feeling happier after watching. I know it sounds odd, but it's true.

I never clicked with it, but, I'm sorry to hear it for the fans of the show.

Sanctuary is just about as old, right? So, it'll probably be winding up next.

I really enjoy the show. So I guess "SyFy" should consider changing it's name to "Mindless Wrestling Channel."

Btw, Eureka, Warehouse 13, and Alphas are same-universe. Eureka and Warehouse 13 had their crossovers (yeah, duh). Warehouse 13 and Alphas have a crossover character--Dr. Vanessa Calder, played by Lindsay Wagner.

The shows from fall of 2010 were branded 4.0. I was expecting this fall's season to be 4.5, which pretty much follows the pattern for season 3.0/3.5.

Five seasons is a good run for any show. Eureka was a decent bit of light, enjoyable fun. Hopefully they replace it with something equally as fun.

Isn't it a little early for that prediction? I didn't think they'd released any kind of footage or real plot info or casting or anything yet.

That's a shame, though it did have a good run. I actually rather it ends on a good note rather than having it continue like an undead zombie like some other series.

There have been quite a few thread on the show here. I'm sure I saw a review thread on an episode not too long ago. This is acutally where I first heard of the show.

Seems weird that they would announce that it would have a final 6 episode season and then a few days later just wipe that out. Though I guess its better to do it now than after most of season 5 is completed.

This is the only show on Skiffy my wife watches. I check it out, but it's too campy for my tastes. It's a show I record and then watch while eating dinner or something in my spare time, not a must-see around which I organize my schedule.

This cancellation is yet another brick in the wall behind which Skiffy's old love is chained.

I suppose it did get a good run, and they're giving it time to wrap up, but I'm going to miss it.

Given the most recent ratings, I fear for Sanctuary's future, too.
