SW blu-rays have changes to the films again

I wouldn't be surprised if these changes were real. The krayt dragon actually sounds horribly produced though.

There wasn't anything wrong with the first version of the yell in the first place. Obi-Wan simply screamed outloud with a strange yell to scare off the sandpeople. What the hell is a krayt dragon anyway?

A krayt dragon is EU bullshit that's been designed to explain every single little detail possible in the Star Wars movie imaginable. Every. Single. Creature in the movies has his own Wookiepedia page and likely a trilogy of novels dedicated to him.

Want to know what the guy's deal at the bar was who harassed Luke? He's got more of a backstory the Princess Leia and a legion of fans dedicated to him.

So when Lucas first laid that skeleton there he had no plan for it, no idea what it was and thought no further on it. Forty years later here we are with an entire expanded story on that skeleton's species and I'd bet that particular skeleton's owner has entire stories centered around just it to show how it ended up there.

The EU is a mess of shit seeking to explain exactly where every piece of subatomic matter in the Star Wars universe came from, where it is going and why.

So, hey, because of all of that why not make Obi Wan's call more "krayt dragony" instead of just a generic "animal call" to scare off the Sand People (all of whom each have their own six-novel series dedicated to every waking moment of their life up to that moment and to the point where they go back to their hut and draw pictures of the dragon in the sand).

Who knew Obi-Wan was the Michael Winslow of the Star Wars universe?

I think the next edition of the movies should be The Star Wars Saga: Wilhelm Scream Edition. Every single scream, yell and yelp in the six movies is replaced with the infamous Wilhelm Scream Georgie boy is so fond of.

I sense much anger in you.

Yes! Yes! Let the hate flow through you...(insert Palpatine cackle here).

If I heard tomorrow Lucas planned on making an entire new editions of the films by replacing Mark Hamil's Luke with Shia LeBouff using computer technology I would believe it.
I would totally watch this. Maybe he can collaborate with Michael Bay.

Because I think Lucas has lost his mind that much.

I think he's just so desperate to cling to Star Wars because it's easily his biggest, most popular franchise. It's historic, and he wants to keep playing with it to keep it in the lime light.

What he doesn't realize is that just as many (possibly more) people would continue to buy the DVDs and Blu-Rays if he released the original versions.

Frankly, as abysmal as the prequels were, if he wants to keep milking his fame, he should make more Star Wars instead of constantly tweaking existing Star Wars.

You guys think that "Nooooooo!" in ROTJ is real? I didn't believe Hayden Christensen in the 2005 DVD was real either, and look how that one turned out...

You know, it's odd, but as I think about it that version might have a degree or two of humor to it.

I can just see LaBeef now rambling and stuttering like a monkey on crack the whole time. The only problem is that it'd be a bigger mystery on why Han doesn't just smack the shit out of him.

No, sorry. It has been specifically a "krayt dragon" since before the first film was released.
I think his problem is less that it was called a krayt dragon and more that the krayt dragon has been explained at great lenght in the Expanded Universe... which is par for the course.

The classic example for me are Bothan spies. There's an offhand reference to many Bothan spies dying to bring the plans of the Death Star to the Rebellion in Return of the Jedi, so in the expanded universe the Bothans are a species dedicated to having an elaborate spy network. Besides wondering why anyone would trust a Bothan who's posing as something other than a spy (being famous spies seems counterintuitive) it explemifies the general trend of the EU, which is to take any one aspect of something mentioned in the films and make that the defining aspect of that thing in the EU. Bothans are only mentioned in the context of espionage, ergo, they are super-spies. And so on.

I think it's real and even if it's fake it's real because it's George Lucas and I've stopped being surprised at this shit a long time ago (in a galaxy far far away).

I'd say they need to get out in front of these rumors but they don't. They don't care and sales will be huge anyway.

Re: Full list of Star Wars blu-ray deleted scenes

the Tosche station-scene is on you tube for those who want to see it.

To be honest, I can kind of understand what Lucas was thinking with the "NOOOO", because after following the long, intertwined journeys of Anakin and Palpatine all through the prequels, you kind of expect more from their final scene than just Vader worldlessly throwing him into a pit.

But that's only if you WANT to make the movie fit in with the prequels. And I sure as hell don't.

Lucas is probably thinking how it's poetic, as the end of Revenge of the Sith, Vader screams NOOOOO, so at the end of Return of the Jedi, he should scream NOOOO.

It's never bothered me that Vader never said anything when he chucked Palps into the pit. What needs to be said? We SEE that Vader doesn't like what he's doing...

I hadn't planned on buying them anyway...
