SW blu-rays have changes to the films again

That ROTJ scene still gives me the chills as it builds to Vader turning on Palps. The original scene, anyway.

This new change not only completely ruins that build up, but reminds me of EPIII hilarity and sounds like they just took two previously recorded prequel James Earl Jones cuts and stuck them in for a youtube joke vid. If only that were so.

I was furious at first, but now I just don't care. Lucas is a joke. Keep on breaking what isn't broken in the story and ignore actual technical flaws, George. Replace entire actors' efforts towards making your films epic with prequel cut and paste, change out good lines for bad, ruin all of the reveals. You're the billionaire with all the power. They're your films, blah, blah, blah. I'll just enjoy my shitty DVD transfers.

Nobody would be complaining if the "Nooooooooo!" had been in there all along.

Nope. Because we wouldn't know the difference and we'd likely be complaining if it were to be taken out.

That's not quite the point. The point is that it wasn't there and now he's adding it for what the fuck ever reason he wants.

And if there isn't a Buck Rogers "opening" for Star Wars that'd be very wrong.

You know, "for an entire generation" audiences watched the original unaltered Star Wars trilogy on TV and VHS and absolutely loved it. I have the OUT on DVD. And I still love it. At this point, any "lack of quality" that people complain about from the OUT is really the preservation of the original film. There's a distinct nostalgia to be gleaned not only from the preservation of the original incarnation of the film, but from the "original" quality of the film itself. You want the OUT, find the 2006 DVDs on ebay, buy them, and enjoy.

Otherwise, if you want some newfangled HD presentation, put up with the "new" vision from GL -- including the changes made for the '97 SEs, the '04 DVDs, and the '11 BRs. Time for people to get over their outrage at changes. They are here. They aren't going away. And if you don't like them, simply stop buying each new incarnation of the saga.

The only point that matters is that he wants to add it, and he can add it, and he has added it, so there's no sense in raging over it. Nobody's opinion here is going to change his mind. All you guys are doing is aggravating yourselves and each other.

I would consider purchasing the blu-ray version if they got rid of the garbage mattes for all time. Does anyone know if they did?

People that have seen early copies are saying that it wasn't fixed.

This is looking like another rush job.

That sucks. I actually would think it would be worth it, even with all the changes, most of which are unnecessary, if the garbage mattes were removed.
