Using Alice wasn't a worthwhile nod to the movie which had nothing to do with Voyager, it just muddied the waters until you didn't know which timline at all you were observing considering that Susannah only became Queen in the alternate timeline metered after First contacts reshuffling the deck in the past but seven was talking about the events of First Contact during Year of Hell so it did happen but... It's all bollocks.

What's the point in reminding people that TNG was better when they could have been celebrating Voyager for the second best that it was? There were plenty of women from Voyagers rich history and present which they could have squeezed into that corset.

What about Jeri "Seven of Nine" Ryan (hell, why not Jeri Taylor?) All Along the Seven of Nine personality had been a mule sleeper agent budding queen in waiting, waiting for the perfect moment to strike or the perfect final solution after it had been decided that Voyager had outlived it's usefulness.

What about Julianne "Dexa" Christie? Thus unfolding the revelation that the entire sequence of events from Homestead had been a huge trap to pear off Neelix for some ungodly reason, and now she was back for the rest.

What About Scarlet "Niomi Wildman" Pommers? Consider, if some thing bad (for the Borg) happens and they have to harvest a new individual to be formatted into a queen on site, they could end up with anyone, which means that any of the "females" could be tapped for Queen but having it be a 5 year old little girl would just be hilarious, and Scarlet is adorable.

What about Jennifer "kes" Len? It's insane to think that after rummaging though Voyagers Database as often and well as the Borg did that there were certain events and peculiarities they didn't try to replicate/assimilate including taking nascent Ocampan Drones and then amp the little bastards into Dones with Godlike powers but only the will of the collective to drive them that they finally would have enough muscle to take on some the really old powers in the galaxy. Yeah, Kes. It's not like she deserved a nod for all the hard work and being dumped on so well when they fired the little blonde girl.

What about Susan "Denara Pel" Diol? The woman who had sex with the Doctor as the enslaved villain trying to destroy Voyager at the 11th hour? Truly the Doctor's holohormons were all over the place up to the final moment when he ridiculously threw himself himself at Seven as if she didn't already stink of the Indian from their heavy petting. Consider that after the dusk settles, that the Doctor lives happily ever after with Denara using Borg nano probes to cure the phage because the Thinktank were lying... Or otherwise for an alternate ending, everything concludes on a grim note with a woman he barely thinks about dying in his arms, and he's weeping and swearing retribution, as he pledges vengeance on the Borg Empire already crumbling around him due tot he final route already delivered from some cunning plan he'd just exacted for his sour Captain.

What about Sharon "Amelia Earhart" Lawrence? God knows we wouldn't want the thunder and celebrity of Janeway's homecoming stolen by the return of another woman gone for a touch longer than Kathy who was bringing home a civilization numbering in the hundreds of thousands rather a tiny boat half full of dread terrorists being ferried to a penal colony. The Jokes they could milk from this would be toxic to people of a lesser constitution: "I have done it! I have done it! I have broken the world record for the slowest circumnavigation of the globe!!!"

What about Olivia "Marla Gilmore" Birkelund? How badly were the Equinox treated? Maybe she would have welcomed assimilation rather than continue on as practically no better than a slave on Voyager scrubbing Toilets, living in a broom closet and having to call Maquis terrorists "sir". After two years of that tripe, there's bound to be a rancid build up of resentment in place since the Equinox 5 were probably treated as well as the Doctor in his holonovel from their perspective at the bottom of the food chain.

First. Contact. Didn't. Alter. The. Timeline. Damnit. :p

Anyway, Alice Krige was the best ever!

^ I agree. IMO, there was no change in the Trek timeline because of the events of First Contact.

HOWEVER, on the way back to their own time, Enterprise-E did accidently make a brief stop in the middle of the 20th century. Although the crew's actions did not appear on screen, they were responsible for creating a new timeline where Richie and Joanie Cunningham never have an older brother named Chuck....

Sure it did,

We saw what the DQ looked like in Before and After, a persistence of time which unfolded without the DQ Borg receiving the Borg Queens upgrades and tactical suggestions from 2063. Halfway through year four in the middle of Krenim Space: No Borg.

Earth might have remained relatively similar after Picard and the Queen knocked history off course, but the events of First Contact turned the DQ completely on it's ass.

Meh. First Contact was a predestination paradox.

First Contact was a predestination paradox. Enterprise is the same timeline as The Original Series. The old Spock in last year's film is the same guy from TOS and the old movies.

We saw one possible future in "Before and After", just like we saw one possible future in "All Good Things" (where the Enterprise-D didn't crash, where Riker watched his weight, where Romulus wasn't destroyed etc.) or "Azati Prime" (before the Enterprise crew destroyed the Delphic Expanse hundreds of years early) or whatever. It's all POV. From whenever the present is, the future is just a maybe. Not only can trillions of things change from the most minor event, but just because we didn't see X before episode Y, it's not proof that the time continuum has been
rewritten, it means we simply didn't see X until episode Y. X could have always happily existed off-screen until the camera panned in it's direction in episode Y.

Rant over. Carry on :)

Scarlett Pommers

Never really thought about it before, but that would have been a dark episode. First Voyager would have had to been attacked by the Borg and Naomi kidnapped and assimilated. This would have devastated the crew, Seven especially. Then imagine them finding the transwarp hub and getting a communique from Naomi/Queen. How messed up would that have been? To get home and save themselves Voyager would have had to attack and possibly kill their only child. :wtf:

Re: Suze was Busy... Who SHOULD have (in your opinon) played the Queen

More or less messed up than if the Naomi Queen was still crushing on Harry like the old dang regular Queen was in Unimatrix Zero?

Nice rant Dan, I can call you Dan? But every single trip into the past creates an infinite number of alternative outcomes/timelines from the point of incursion when a chrononaut reintroduces him or herself back into linear time and time branches explosively into an omniverse while at the same time making the original timeline completely and utterly impossible, even if there is evidence of that person already being in the past fiddling about, it's just an alternate them from a previously collapsed timeline... So really of all the infinite timelines created every single time some one leaps into the past, many of course can be mistaken for predestination paradoxes just because no one can empirically find how their new found present is not the present they are used to including evidence of their shenanigans with histories validity... I recall an episode of Sliders where they thought they were home, got set to settle down and miss the next window (there's a 33 year wait between windows.) when some one finally noticed that the Golden Gate bridge was green. Maybe Blue?

Next you're going to be telling me that there wasn't a Picard Corpse buried along side the Kirk corpse at the end of Generations by the Nexus Picard who who returned to the final battle to save the day?
