Trek Central has confirmed Scott Bakula will reprise his role as Captain Jonathan Archer for the finale of Star Trek: Picard!

April Fools!

Archer in TNG's finale would only be fitting.
Picard: Q, you can't blame me for the anomaly, Data told me that you need 4 inverse tachyon pulses in the same spot to cause a time paradox, not 3!

(Q shows archive video of Jonathan Archer performing an inverse tachyon pulse in the Devron system in the 22nd century)

It's all about nailing the dismount.

The guest star will be... Lore! Who still exists in canon as far as I know.

He and Datelore will prove that they are both fully functional in a twist to rival Game of Thrones.

In all seriousness, we never did find out where Lore's parts were .... did we?

No - nothing in canon says that the original was destroyed.
I mean, there had to be some damage from Data phasering Lore. We saw B4 in pieces in the drawer at the actual Daystrom Institute in S1. I didn't remember any mention of Lore back then.

A thousand years from now, the Internet will be remembered for having finally killed the traditional celebration of April Fool's Day.

If this wasn't a joke, I'd be really happy to see some reference to Enterprise. Given the purpose of Frontier Day, it would be great to have a recording from President Archer about that time or similar.

But 250 years. That really puts things in perspective.
