Supernatural - worth getting?

I was toying with the idea of dabbling in one or more seasons. I don't know much about it but someone recommended it to me. Any thoughts?

Yes. The first season is fairly average and filled with mostly standalone stories, but it starts getting good around the midpoint and ends on a really high note. After that, the series' metaplot starts to kick in and things get really good. I think every successive season from Two through Four was better than its predecessor. The biggest change, I think, is in Sam Winchester. He's pretty annoying early on in Season One, but he improves a lot as the show goes on.

Yes, it's worth getting. Yes it starts to improve massively around midway through season one. Then season two really takes off. Definitely worth it. Definitely not a "teen hottie" CW show.

I think Smallville is worth getting and that isn't a "teen hottie" CW show. From what I seen of SuperNATURAL...it is very good...I didn't watch it early on then again...you really don't have to...I have seen 3-5 eps per season and get it, don't need anything explained...it is that type of show you can pick it up at season 5 and get it.

I was initially dismissive of the show, thinking it was squarely aimed at teenage girls. Then one of the TV stations I work for started airing episodes starting with season 4 and I started watching it (actually I had to, I had to record and segment the satellite feed of the show).

Needless to say I got into it, and got caught up for season 5. I think it has a kind of Buffyesque vibe to it (to a certain extent) though the creator of the show cites other influences. I recommend it highly.

I've been watching this recently via Netflix, and I'm just about to finish Season 1. It's fairly standard Season 1 stuff, but there is an interesting arc running throughout, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where it's going.

From what I've heard, it gets awesome, so that should be good.

IMO the series only gets better with age. Season 5 so far has been great and it's pulling no punches.

For the most part I'm loving season five, but tonight's episode was a little flat. Can't hit them all out of the ball park, though. SPN is definitely one of the better shows on the air today.

Even the weaker episodes generally benefit from the chemistry between the two leads, well-made action sequences and hilarious comic bits. I'd definitely recommend this series.

I'm a recently convert, so I give you a healthy YES!!!!! Every season opens with AC/DC. I am very pleased.

Based on season 5 so far, I can't honestly say if I would recommend this show anymore.

If you need a new show to watch though, I really enjoyed seasons 1-3. If the show had been canceled there, I think I would regard the series better.

If you like supernatural investigation shows along the lines of The X-Files, then I'd say yes, definitely. It feels very much like a spiritual successor to The X-Files.
The first season starts off with mostly stand alone stories but it does become arc heavy in later and gets better with every season, at least in my opinion.
The first season is currently £8.98 and seasons 2 and 3 are £10.58... it's certainly worth giving a shot at those prices.
Or there's a boxset of seasons 1-4 for £48.57

Another "definately" here! I think Supernatural was originally recommended to me here in one of these threads and I've enjoyed every single episode I've watched. Great show. Go for it!

On the channel it's on over here (or at least was), I thought it was the only thing worth watching.

I've only seen seasons 1 - 4 so far, and in my opinion, it is definitely worth taking a look at:)

Do you like Rock & Roll?

Do you like guns?

Do you like muscle cars?

If you answered yes to any of the above, get Supernatural.

Understand that Supernatural does not have a drop a romance. It is a show about two guys driving around the country in a muscle car and killing things to a classic rock soundtrack. And it is awesome.
