Spoilers Supernatural Season 13

OK, totally saw all those plot points coming......but I enjoyed it anyway.

OK, Chuck is going to have to make an appearance because there aren't enough angels left and alt-Michael is on the loose.

I wonder if next season is their last? The guys probably want to call it quits, both actors and characters alike.

At this point, every additional year is another 3 or 4 million dollars in each of their pockets, and their net worth is barely twice that number. The guys are in their late 30s and early 40s now with children and no prospects for a movie star career. This is the time to build up their bank accounts for retirement, imo. In their shoes, I would be squeezing every last drop out of this franchise.

That was average for a season finale. When will these Brothers Winchester ever learn? It wasn't like Michael was going to honor the deal with Dean; I saw it coming from a lightyear away. The only thing good that came out of this was they stopped Lucifer, who was probably a bigger evil than Michael himself. I was at least expecting Jack to get his juice back when his pop was killed.

I think Dean knew Michael was probably going to go back on the deal. He just decided it was worth it to save Sam and Jack.

Was let down by the ending. They really need to stop going to the well with big world-ending bad guys that they don't have the budget to show or the talent to write for. So Dean needed to become Michael just to stab that blade into Lucifer once?

Also, nice clunky exposition by Bobby to explain why three recurring characters aren't there for the finale.

I really hope that this is the end of Lucifer. That character is way too played out at this point. I'm sure like the arc where Dean turned into a demon that Michael be out of Dean's body a few episodes into the season. You can't split up the Winchester boys all season long.

Also I got the feeling that they're setting up a Bobby/Mary romance. He did seems a bit flirty towards her.

^I agree about Luci. It was well past the time for him to go.

I would like alt- Bobby to stick around; a romance with Mary would be great. They looked very sweet together.

The burning question now is what we do with Jack next season. I mean, they can't just leave him human--can they? With the situation in heaven being what it is, he's the obvious plot point--resurrect the angels from The Empty to fix heaven.

(Then again, we've been saying that saving Adam and Michael from the Cage, plus giving the angels back their wings, was an obvious plot point for...how long?...so what do I know)

It's an open question whether all of Jack's grace has been taken or if a completely drained nephilim (son of an arch angel) can heal back his grace.

So what happened to the idea that the epic fight between Lucifer and Michael would result in world-wide collateral damage killing millions? The only collateral damage was a bit of broken furniture in a single room. Dean must feel like an idiot for not accepting Michael's offer back in season 5.

Well Michael isn't dead so maybe what he does in Dean's body after the fight is what will kill people in the millions. That or this is a different Michael so maybe the old rules don't apply.

Forgot to add that Dean wasn't even born in the alternate universe as one reason why those rules might not apply.

Well, okay, none of my predictions came even close to coming true. I figured the most likely outcome was that Jack would sacrifice himself to defeat Michael-- and I suppose that may still happen, but it seems more likely now that Jack will be a regular character for the foreseeable future, like Cass.

Anyway, this finale really shook up the status quo. Lucifer showed his true self once his deal with Michael was revealed-- and after his forced confession of the murder of that girl, which was really creepy. His fragile state of repentance was shattered pretty soundly and he was on the verge of literally destroying everything that Chuck created. Which probably would have resulted in his termination by Chuck, but that would have been too late. Would Chuck be bothered to resurrect the universe as is, even if he could? He might start from scratch again in an eon or seven, but that wouldn't do us any good.

But Jack proved his good nature, after being wracked by self doubt, by nearly sacrificing himself to save Sam. But Dean beat him to the punch and we got to see the impressive display of Dean with Archangel wings, followed by aerial combat between him and Lucifer in what appeared to be an old, abandoned church. And Lucifer now appears to be quite dead-- which is kind of a major event.

So where do we stand heading toward season four?

The Devil is deceased.
Michael is loose, using Dean as his meat suit.
Jack is depowered, maybe forever, maybe not.
The Alt-Universe is free of Michael, but will the Angels continue the war?
Bobbie and Charlie's counterparts are here in our universe.
Gabriel is dead, but in the Alt-Universe-- will he rise again?
Angel Radio is nothing but static-- uh oh.
And that girl that Lucifer resurrected-- he said that the risen were not always quite right. Was that foreshadowing? Or did Lucifer take measures with her to ensure his own resurrection if anything happened?

Did I miss anything?

Shame we will never see his version of The universe. Looks like the inclusion of some “sassy robots” would be interesting.

Speaking of which, I feel we are getting closer to the show becoming cosmic. They’ve mentioned a few times now that Earth isn’t the only planet Chuck created with sentiment life. Would be interesting to see what else is out there.

Who the hell directed that..... thing? Was it alternate universe Bobby Singer maybe? That felt so amateurish at times, that fight between Luci and Alt!Micheal looked so cheesy, they clearly didn't have the budget to pull that off. And that freeze frame at the end omg  Did they forget about their own episode "The French Mistake"? Serviceable, indeed...

Still looking forward to season 14, Jensen's gonna be awesome as always, as long as it lasts more than three episodes this time.
