Superman

Still my favorite moment of exposure to Kryptonite:

Post-Crisis Superman grew a beard on War World after his space exile because he killed Zod.

Post-Crisis Death and Re-Birth of Superman had a ponytail, which was out of character?

Did Lois make him keep it?

This...

There's never been much consistency with the notion of Superman growing hair, shaving, etc., especially in the terrible Weisinger period of the comics. It was whatever played into a gimmick (and at the time, what was determined to be a "hook" for a cover).

Very nice video essay/analysis here (though perhaps best avoided by Snyder fans):

Watching Man of Steel right now with my son. He wants to know if Superman sheds cells or if he retains all of his cells from the time he gained his powers and only produces new ones. And if he does shed cells, do they retain Kryptonian properties.

Back in Brynes early Action Comics days Supermans shed skin cells gave Chemo a power up.

Two bits of Superman news.

First, Jonathan Kent, the new Superman (and son of Lois and Clark), is coming out as bisexual in next month's issue of "Superman: Son of Kal-El."

Second, Dean Cain is being Dean Cain in response to this.

I'm having a difficult time conjuring up any outrage out of this.

I mean, it's not like it's Kal-El, right?

(Actually I had no idea there was even a new Superman in the first place. )
Well, some of the headlines seem intentionally vague about it being a different Superman than most people know, like they want to stir shit up. Because, you know, they do, because outrage generates clicks.
