Spoilers "Superman & Lois" Season 3

I guess we've got a a couple of eps left to see where things go with Brunno Mannaheim wind up but with Peia/Onomatopoeia plot largely wrapped up in I'm wonder if this season is a bit like S5 of the Expanse which largely set things up for the following season.

Yes there's been the Lois breast cancer thread which many have applauded though I've had to largely skip through it - I just can handle it (even though fortunate never to have had to deal with in real life).

A superhero show was the last place I thought I'd see a mature and nuanced take on breast cancer.

Having experienced much of what’s been portrayed (my wife’s breast cancer treatments last fall), I concur. Few fictional stories I’ve seen have been so close to reality (and that includes medical shows). At times, some scenes have been eerily similar to moments our family experienced.

Don't think this image is really a spoiler, but coding it just in case.

Could the woman be Mercy?
I think she could be Mercy! I'd be down with that.

This Lex looks rather blue collar. Interesting. Willing to get his shirt dirty. :)

In less good news:
To make the dual deals possible there will be budget cuts that include reducing the number of series regular cast members. Superman & Lois has 12 series regulars, Deadline hears the leads are not expected to be affected but supporting cast members will likely be. (Speeding up the decision is the fact that cast options are set to expire this week.)

Still, with only ten episodes for what will likely be the final season, tightening the focus to the core cast may not be a bad thing. There are times I've felt they could do with less Cushing drama and such anyway.

Sam Lane I am guessing will be gone. I also assuming out of that 12 people cast some of them are this years baddies such as Bruno Mannheim. As for budget cuts I am expecting fewer trips to the Fortress of Solitude.

I just hope Superman doesn't lose his powers all of sudden, only to regain them in the series final.

Oh man this is terrific news. I thought for sure it was going to be canceled. .

Same here. That said, with only 10 episodes ordered for a fourth season, that's announcing the end of the series. As it stands, Superman and Lois is a show filled to the brim with B and C plots, and that writing format cannot (read: should not) continue into such an abbreviated 4th season, so cutting down the cast will help what should should be a new format.

I think Lana’s family will still be around. They just won’t be main characters anymore.

The Sarah / Jordan sub-plot has to reach some sort of resolution, as the teen angst angle is getting close to crossing the city limits into EnoughAlreadyVille. If Sarah finds a new avenue for her life--one that takes her away from Smallville, that would be one way of lightening the character load on a permanent basis. I would be too shocked if a main cast member is killed off either in this or the last season, just add force to the threat posed by Luthor, but i'm hoping its not Irons. After all he's had to deal with, his death would just seem like writers piling on for no good reason.

Not sure if this needs a spoiler tag, but just in case:

Apparently, the first character casualty of the reduced budget is Sam Lane, with Dylan Walsh's wife posting on Instagram that her husband's role was "cut due to budget."

If this is the price of renewal, I can live with it -- though if it were up to me, I would have cut any or all of the Cushing clan before Sam.

If he has to go, I hope they don’t shoehorn a cheap no-name replacement. I’d rather they just write a storyline where his presence is not required.
