Spoilers "Superman & Lois" Season 1 spoiler discussion!

That whole thing with Diggle was awkward as fuck.

Lois: "John Diggle?"
Diggle: "Lois Lane. For contractual reasons, I'm not at all surprised to see you."
Lois: "Obligatory hug for the fans even though we barely know each other?"
Diggle: "Obligatory hug for the fans even though we barely know each other."
Lois: "For what possible reason could you possibly have to come on this show?"
DIggle "McGuffin. My Wife. McGuffin. Your dad."
Lois: "Oh. Sad McGuffin."

Yep. Most Berlanti series are not known for pesky 'ol things like continuity with characters and events, hence the reason Zod's consciousness existed in this series when Supergirl established that Superman killed Zod. Ehhh...but nevermind that..Discount Crisis or whatever. ..and yeah, there's Diggle showing up on Batwoman and Superman and Lois because he has how much of a relationship with the characters...?

As someone who didn't watch Arrow, this was exactly the kind of crossover I was hoping for. One that doesn't matter in any way. :)

Although Diggle's arc in these episodes isn't really about anything from Arrow (aside from the teaser scene in the finale); it's about setting up where he (theoretically) goes next.

Left out how he's apparently contractually obligated to have a one on one discussion with a black member of the cast of the show that he's currently appearing on. (Altho I have a backlog of Legends episodes so do not have that appearance or if it was even Diggle or just the same actor)

Next season with Covid out of the way everyone can show up. Supergirl and Flash and Batwoman gather up Supes for a adventure into space with the Legends. We can see Supes get high with Behead and also another fight with Supergirl while both are drunk as a sort reference joke to that famous fight they had in Supergirl but for laughs this time. Also Flash and Superman can have a good race.

I'm happy to see Diggle and David Ramsey again, but yeah, he doesn't really have any relationships to the current Batwoman characters (missed opportunity to make him an old acquaintance of Jacob), or much to the Superman & Lois characters, however being with ARGUS does give him a legit enough reason to visit. Utilizing Diggle in this manner is curious. I hadn't considered there not being much of a connective kind of character for the Arrowverse, like how Coulson and Nick Fury brought together the MCU at the beginning. With Diggle being the 'heart' and 'soul' of Team Arrow and I think being a fan favorite of the Arrow series, and this still being the Arrowverse, he's the best option they have to bring those strands together.

I thought the use of Zod was underwhelming. It brought to mind Smallville, and that's not the first time I've gotten a Smallville vibe from S&L. Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of Lex-Zod or much of Calum Blue's Zod either (though I softened on him in the last season; how epic would it have been to have gotten Terence Stamp back? Though back in the day I was thinking Avery Brooks would make a good Zod on Smallville before the Lex-Zod; so would Christopher Judge), and as of now, the S&L Zod got short shrift. I would've liked to have seen the Zod possessed Superman say something about being killed by Superman (like was established on Supergirl, but I guess that maybe didn't happen now) or facing him in the past or something. If they were going to bring Zod on the series (and not use the Supergirl actor), which for now I don't think they needed to with Tal-Ro being a good stand-in, I wish they would've gone with Colin Salmon. I would've liked to have seen more of Salmon's Zod.

I would've liked to see more of Krypton in general. Surprisingly terrific show, considering the mockery-bait premise. (The same can be said of Pennyworth.)

I haven't seen Pennyworth but if it's as good as Krypton I might have to take a look. I didn't expect much out of Krypton based on the premise. The trailer, really Brainiac in the trailer, got me intrigued. I came away impressed by the first season. I also enjoyed the second and was eager to see where it would go next.

A later episode during Crisis already said he hadn't.

Think he kinda already did. After Clark won the mental battle, Edge said that Zod was “gone. For good.”

I wonder if that's really true. It seems like kind of a waste to introduce Zod as a potential threat and then just eradicate him (so to speak) by the end of the episode. If his consciousness is still lurking inside Clark's mind, that could cause trouble down the road.

Plenty of Zod's in the multiverse. Perhaps Pre-Crisis Zod is out their as well having never been killed like said in Supergirl. Maybe that Zod has a fortress as well somewhere.

I'd like to see the bald Silver Age Zod make a comeback. He knew how to wear a hat.
True. But Superman killed him in that pocket dimension some time ago. Of course, wasn’t the first (or last) time Superman killed Zod, ;) so maybe there’s a chance for ole baldy yet.

That was about 4 retcons/reboots ago, and it was just a pocket universe double of the actual silver age Zod anyway. It also was the first time he killed him (deleted footage puts the lie to people who bafflingly think Superman would smirk and then murder a powerless opponent), but sadly not the last (who hurt you, Snyder?).

Humour. It is a difficult concept.
