Musk's belief in himself as a "breeder" has been public for quite some time.
So what?

The public obsession with Musk as a theatrical villain has grown tremendously since 2023. There's no reason to imagine that Gunn would have been interested in mapping the personal eccentricities of some public figure onto Clark's dad - certainly not when he wasn't doing anything so specific with Lex, who as the wealthy industrialist villain would seem to be a much more promising character for it.

As I said, over-interpretation.

I think that time has been kinder to Jesse Eisenberg’s/Zack Snyder’s Luthor as we’ve seen Musk and (to a lesser extent) Zuckerberg turn into billionaire villains, but I didn’t see any echoes of Musk in the dialogue referred to here.

Thinking this early today. What Jor-El and Lara ask of their son is not that far from some Earth religions. In fact if they said take one mate and have as many children as possible it would fit even more Earth cultures and religions…
So pining one person as inspiration is unlikely. There are too many possibilities.

It made me feel bad to feel a certain way, but the delivery came across to me as very "Islamic/Muslim". Not sure if that was the intent or just my brain reading into something that isn't there. It felt the same way both times I've seen the film.

Or Christians who divorce and remarry and have children with many mothers. Why bother with formality of marriage and divorce. Secret affairs and out of wedlock children. Very common among white Christians.

Went today and watched it again on 3D Imax and I have to change my vote. From an A - to A. ;)

Despite the theater seats not being as comfortable as the other theater I saw it on, this one had much better quality control. At the first viewing, the movie started with no sound. We got all the way to Superman rejuvinating with the sun in the fortress before it was finally fixed and restarted. I also thought the previews being shown were very mature and shouldnt be shown to an audience of kids. . On this IMAX viewing the previews were much better with the stand out being the 3D trailer for the next Fantastic four movie. I will certainly be catching that one in the same theater. And of course when the movie started .....WOW! Movies like this are meant for 3D IMAX. Seeing it in this setup justifies not waiting a few months. And of course seeing it a second time I noticed other things I hadnt before, like the almost KISS sized high heels that Eve was wearing. You know a movie is good when you watch it a second time and like it even more. Can't wait to own this one on 4K. After that my future Superman watches will be 1, 2 and this one. This is nothing short of a triumph for James Gunn and DC.

Not sure if this was shared yet. I had not seen. https://ew.com/superman-james-gunn-...rwoke-discourse-justice-league-plans-11774874
Saw it 5th time today and had no idea David wore prosthetic makeup as Ultraman. More than ever I suspect Gunn is going to continue character to be closer to Bizarro. Numerous times he has said he thinks about where and what happens to him. Here he says his facial features are distorted because Lex took him out of oven too soon. How Bizarre…

Kryptonian birthing matrix?

Russel Crow said "Fuck that. It's been 10 thousand years since anyone on this planet has done any serious shagging, but I'm up for it!"

Thing I'm just now noticing about the birthing matrix is that they don't let you out of it at the same moment when you should have been born if you had been inside a real woman all along, but instead not until you are almost 4 years old and graduated pre K, because those are the garbage years that kill most parents (emotionally and socially).

So I'm questioning the duration of the trip from Krypton to Earth that the Eradicator pooped baby Kal-El out into the Kent's lap, moments after Earthfall... Did the ship choose a lesser speed that would have The kid be perfectly ripe w... Or was the last son of Krypton in there way too long, far longer than "customs" dictate? What if he graduated Pre K 5 times? Similar to when you judge a mother for breast feeding a nine year old?

Once again, this is straight from Byrne era Superman. Which makes me think that I remember Cadmus being mentioned in the movies somewhere. Was that in Peacemaker or Suicide Squad, or was it something from a CW series?
