Supergirl TV Series is being work on.

I will admit when I saw the picture on the CBR homepage, I thought it was The Vision at first.

I can't say I am thrilled with the look. I would have preferred something smooth and metallic looking. I guess that would have put it in CG territory though. They probably don't have the budget for something like that.

But no one has put any effort into Red Tornado that it stuck.

Peter David on Young Justice and Brad Meltzer on Justice league come to mind, but after they moved on, Red Tornado went into comic book Limbo.

This is wrong. Much of the mythology and background surrounding him was established long before Meltzer or PAD. They developed his character, but the ideas such as his relationship with humans and being air elemental were created by others.

Yikes. I can only hope this is just an early prototype version of the costume, and we'll see it evolve and improve over time. Because right now I have to agree with those who say it looks more like a cheesy Doctor Who costume from the 80s.

Not 'android' enough. I was expecting something along the lines of full-body plastic-looking armor, even on the face.

Is his face expressive in the comics? I did see the character on Young Justice, but I honestly can't remember if his face moved there.

JD, I'm not that familiar with him from comics either. From what I've seen elsewhere, he's got a face plate with slits as Guy said. He seems more robot than life-like android. I'm currently watching Young Justice btw and that's what he has there. I've not seen any facial movements.

Never liked the air elemental version of RT. The outfit leaves a bit to be desiresd on this version but we will see how it plays out on screen. Hopefully it shapes out better when lit properly.

Does that matter? This isn't a comic, it's a live-action TV show. It has to do things in a way that works on TV. You can get away with a rigid-faced android in a comic book, because the faces don't move anyway, or in an animated cartoon, because you can cheat the shapes of rigid objects to convey expression (like the way Batman's mask eyeholes change shape with his expression in B:TAS). But in live action, a rigid face is a terrible idea if you want a character to be expressive and identifiable. It works for the Cybermen in Doctor Who because they're cold and emotionless and impersonal, but it wouldn't be a good idea for a superhero character like Red Tornado.

Honestly, I'm surprised his overall appearance is as "robotic" as it is. They could've gone for a more human appearance, like Smallville did with J'onn J'onzz.
