Realizing that this year's finale was not what was planned, especially given Jon Cryers comment last month about the need to rewrite the ep to fit scenes already filmed ("Oh! Did I not get defeated? Wait a minute, I like this!") I think the ep worked fine.
It finished the prolonged battle between Kara and Lena, and let Kara drop her goody two shoes attitude long enough to really let Lena know how she felt.
"I made one mistake, not telling you my truth, and you hurt me in every way imaginable, pretending to be my friend for weeks, you stole from me, you manipulated me to steal for you, you used KRYPYONITE on me!"
I really liked how Kara kept returning to the idea of "her truth"/her secret, that people in on her secret were at risk because of it and Kara was trying to keep Lena safe from that.
Other things I liked were the little things like when Melissa played J'onn impersonating Supergirl, she walked/stood like him, and when she played M'gann's version of the SG doppelganger, SG smiled like M'gann. ETA, or when Alex and Lena both blurted out the same praise and Alex looked up and said "jinx", it was a reminder of when these two were friendly collaborators.
I liked how they wove the three story lines together in the end, with SG, Lena , and female Brainy each exhorting their subject with "I believe in you."
I wish we could have seen Eve confess her role in Jerimiah's death. Without some truthtelling she is still at Lex's mercy, but I understand the time factor / COVID19 crunch was a huge issue, so like Chyler requested in a recent interview, I'll give them some slack.
I too wish Leviathan was over, but now we have to deal with whomever Gamemnae reported to next season. I was guessing Gaia, but I don't think she would sell out her Earth to a handful of aliens.
I look forward to seeing more of Lillian Luthor next year, a refinement to Alex's suit (no hoodie, please!), and the return of game night. I don't look forward to more William, sigh, not sure if I can honestly differentiate between my antipathy for the actor vs my belief there's no chemistry between him and our star.
I must admit laughing when he agreed to letting Kara cauterize his wound then exclaimed "NO, don't!" But that was the only time I tolerated him. Maybe he'll interview Eve for hours and the two will fall in love and run off together?
