The "new" scene with Lex tonight was actually a deleted scene from last year, that was included on the Blu-ray set. Interesting to repurpose it this way, though the original scene is longer, and really good. Too bad they couldn't include all of it.

2) I guess that writers will show her redeeming herself
Okay... Andrea sold her soul to the devil to save her father, she sold Russell's soul to the same devil and thereby exchanged his life for the lives of all he killed, but what was Lena's excuse? She was betrayed by Andrea, by Lex, by Eve Tessmacher and by Kara so she can betray any and all she needs to betray in order to achieve her own ends? I don't think so.
I'm really having a difficult time seeing a path to redemption for Lena at this point, which I guess is what the writers want so they can dazzle me with the "sudden reversal" that redeems her and saves her relationship with Kara. At this point, even making Lena completely evil and leaving her the same would make more sense than having her be redeemed before the final season cliffhanger.
If you're going to bring good versions from destroyed Earths, why not go for a swapped Lex? A good Lex might even steer Lena into some self-reflection that might, just might, help her see if not go an actual path for redemption. I guess it wouldn't work, as Lex is manipulative enough that nobody would buy a good Lex, unless he literally dies in Crisis.
Did this episode retcon the timeline, or did I miss something? The flashback with Lex says "5 Years Ago" and he's acting as if Superman literally just showed up, yet isn't he supposed to have been active for at least 13 years prior to the pilot episode?

That, and knowing he's a Lex from another world, she would "rationalize" that he's not from her reality, or the conditions she was born into / endured throughout her life--which includes her interest in evil-infused medallions, eugenics hallmarks such as creating super soldiers, "correcting" human personalities/traits, etc. She--as the expression goes--"is who she is" and that's not some good hearted "pal" to anyone.
