You guys may be closer to the truth than you think. Now that you mention it, they did go out of their way to establish "Henshaw"'s telepathy this episode....
I kind of half-way expected it from the body language and the camera angles.
I also would have liked it if, when she had to leave as Supergirl immediately afterward and looked a little flummoxed, that had ended with her just shrugging and going right back out and off of the freakin' balcony.
(I'm worried that the fact that they didn't means they're probably going to try to backtrack Cat knowing somehow by convincing her she was wrong - which would be dumb.)
^ Her cover was just blown, by her boss no less. She was probably still too shaken to just run back out as Supergirl.

Lots of great stuff this episode.
I got a big of a kick out of their whole take on the Sony/Amy Pascal email hack thing with Cat. It was a nice way to give us some character stuff for Cat.
Loved the fight between Kara and Astra. I honestly think the effects are great for this kind of a show.
I like how Hank just casual mentioned his telepathy and Alex's reaction was great. I really hope Kara finds out soon who he really is soon. It'll be interesting to see how Kara reacts to a friendly super powered alien. I'm hoping we get a big action scene with the two of them working together. So does the comment about Superman mean that he is the other person who knows the truth about him?
As for whether he'll always be CGI, I wouldn't be surprised if they went the Grimm route and did the transformations and short scenes with just a few quick shots as CGI, and longer more in depth scenes with makeup.
I liked James encourage Winn to go after Kara. Hopefully this will tone down some of the jealousy.
The action scene at the end was pretty cool. I didn't expect to get a big action scene with so many Kryptonians, and other superpowered aliens using their powers in the show.
This was definitely a very different version of Non from what we usually get.

J'onn is a shapeshifter so they will probably have Supergirl and Kara be in the same place at the same time courtesy of J'onn.
Maybe. But Superman knowing that J'onn exists isn't necessarily the same thing as knowing that Hank Henshaw is really J'onn in disguise.
Have we ever seen him outside of Superman II? I'm pretty sure he was created for that movie.

So Cat figured it out, and pretty quickly, too. One wonders why she didn't figure out that her coworker Clark Kent was Superman. Perhaps she didn't work as closely with him. Actually, for a moment, I thought she was going to look straight at Kara with glasses off and not recognize her as Supergirl. Her manner, as well as her hair, is different in Kara mode -- maybe not as different as Christopher Reeve's Clark and Superman, but more different than George Reeves's or Dean Cain's, certainly.

Now, when exactly did Cat work with Clark? We know she worked with Perry.... but in this episode, she mentioned about working at Catco 24/7... and she had to give up her first son because of it. And that son is 24.
That timeline has got me confused...hopefully someone will post a TV Cat Grant timeline
If that happens, then increasing clear DC heroes' participation could take the series in more colorful, comic-like direction regarding superheroes. Characters like Lord--as developed on the series--do little for me.

That would be the best way to end the Cat plot (which is just more feeble soap opera confusion, considering Kara is allegedly going to be involved with her son), and ease the tension between Kara and Henshaw.
...although I would like to see Supergirl end up needing him, and learn that her quick judgement was misguided.

Non has an odd name for a Kryptonian male. Most follow the Kal-El pattern: Jor-El, Zor-El, Jax-Ur, Dev-Em and Quex-Ul. Even Zod was given the full name of Dru-Zod recently.

This episode felt too busy for it's own good. It seemed like the Astra storyline was there as kind of an afterthought until the end where the writers are like, hey, this is the midseason finale we have to have a cliffhanger. The best part of this episode (And this series) has been the goings on at catco and to have Cat figure out that Kara was Supergirl was the big thing coming out of this finale for me. It seems like characters in the Berlanti shows I've seen (Basically this and Flash) need to be written stupid for drama's sake. It was nice to see Cat finally put things together at the end there. Looking forward to seeing how the relationship might change now that she knows.
Was definitely not expecting Cat to learn the truth so soon, but it was nice to see her piecing it together herself. And now it should be really interesting to see how their future scenes together play out, especially when Kara is in her lowly assistant mode. Will Cat force her to drop the meek and nervous act, or will they both just continue to play along like nothing ever happened?
And I also wonder if Cat is gradually being set up to be an unofficial member of the Superfriends gang now, and someone who will use her power and vast resources to help out when needed...
The Astra storyline I didn't think was quite as effective. Even though they seem to be painting her as more of a conflicted eco-terrorist now, she still comes across just way too one-dimensionally evil for my taste. And I didn't really buy the idea of Kara turning on her mother over some perceived "betrayal", or blaming her for not doing enough to save Krypton like her aunt.
