Spoilers Supergirl - Season 1

This was information that was completely unknown to the public until the episode aired.

A juicy wad of spectaculaa-aar that was so fantastic that a person had to yelp about how amazing this 1/2 second cameo was as quickly as possible because they had no self control and couldn't contain the awesomeness of this event any longer than the 80 seconds it took them to find their computer.

Here's a rule of thumb.

If what you what to say about programming there's a %99 chance I haven't seen, isn't worth saying, then it's not a spoiler. If however you want to explain why the Flash gave you a more massive boner than all the porn in the world could put together again... Use spoiler code in the Flash thread for a couple hours and shut the heck up on the rest of the board for at least a day.

Oh.

I saw Tomorrows Legends of Tomorrow 2 days ago, no serious I did, it was leaked and the episode White Knights was much improved over the shittiness of the previous installments. Now however, while saying that it is improved may not be a spoiler...

A powerless Negative Woman from the Doom Patrol is the medium bad working for Vandal Savage.

Ray tries to woo and romance her.
But he's a lemon and she don't kiss nerds

So Captain Cold Steps in and does his sexy bad boy thing

And makes out with her a lot!

They do a heist, breaking into the Pentagon.

but they cock it up because they suck.

And Kendra goes ghost of past evil and claws a marines face off.

The Time Masters operate from a base hidden at the end of time and are not actually threatened by Vandal savage's attack on 2163.

You don't want to start a spoiler war with me son, I (currently) have the power to melt faces for the next 14 hours with my Spoiler Fu.

I saw it as confirmation of previous news rather than a plot twist revelation, so I didn't think it was a big deal. Plus I was actually thinking of those who don't watch The Flash and might like a bit of trivia, but I'll be more careful in the future.

People wanted to see more of Krypton? Has Krypton ever been interesting? I always figured there was a reason that we usually just see Superman departing from it.

Why should it matter what prior shows/films have done? The whole point of doing a new series is that it lets you interpret the ideas in a fresh way. They had an opportunity to make Krypton interesting, to carve out a new space and define their version of Krypton. Let us see why Kara misses it so much, why she'd be drawn back there.

Eh, it might have been interesting to see, but I think it's always been clear that what Kara misses most about Krypton is her family. Which I thought the episode did a good enough job showing us.

I don't think we really needed a "day in the life" kind of story or anything in order to understand why she'd miss her home so much.

I was more stressing that it's just "the four of them" and not thousands of Els.

The House of El is a political entity ruling after a fashion a good deal of the planet.

Of course I understand how the budget works.

More actors, more money.

More sets, more money.

Even more cgi people, more money.

How they wear their family crest on their chest, that's Hillbillies with their belt-buckles right?

It's not that hard to put two-and-two together that it involves a cameo appearance of one on the other, no? I wasn't actually bothered about it because it's trivial in this case, I just found it odd that you were complaining about the spoiler in the TBBS sidebar and then namedropped the two shows/superheroes yourself, basically giving away the very "spoiler" you were angry about to an even wider audience. Why take a complaint about spoilers to the status update sidebar anyway?

Your right it is trivial at this point. The reason I did it though was because it was frustrating at the time and because that is a new feature. I regret doing it after the fact but what's done is done.

I did want to address one more thing and then I'm done with this spoiler issue. Cameos are indeed spoilers. I was trying to think of a good example of this and the only thing I kept coming back to was (and I'm sorry for spoilers here but this movie is I think 8 years old) zombieland and Bill Murry's cameo. I was shocked he was in that movie and t added to the impact of seeing him the first time. Now what if someone at the time didn't see that movie and there was a thread about Zombies, movies, or something else that was closely but not quite related to that one movie.

I didn't expect to get flash spoilers in a supergirl thread, because there is a flash thread here too. Heck, even last week when I posted the news about the crossover I had done it here because I hadn't seen that new flash episode yet. When someone belts out something like that even if we have a spoiler tag, I did get frustrated by it and then kind of smirked when it wasn't much.

Both episodes this week were great though. I'm finding until Orphan Black returns, my two most looked forward tv shows are Flash and Supergirl and they both delivered this week.

Speaking of the crossover, it has been confirmed that it's episode 18 and that it airs on March 28th.
Since network shows usually end in May and there's only 2 episodes left after that does that mean whole April with no new episodes or is it more likely that the show will end earlier?

Even if that were true, this was hardly a "cameo." Melissa Benoist did not come to the Flash set and shoot a scene. They just stuck a stock shot of Supergirl flying into a montage.

That said, it was a delightful surprise for me to see it, even though it was just a tiny Easter egg and a confirmation of something we already knew. So I can see how that surprise could be spoiled by advance knowledge. I apologize for letting my own enthusiasm about it get the better of me.

You had a delightful surprise while watching the show.

I did not.

A delightful surprise was ROBBED from me. :(

(Okay, I admit it, I'm exaggerating.)

I thought it was pretty interesting in The Last Days of Krypton, the prose novel all about the time leading up to the desctruction of Krypton. It was pretty interesting in the beginning of Man of Steel too.
Isn't there a Krypton based show in the works?

^I think based on the MoS movie version of Krypton. So all dark and moody.
Do we know that for a fact? I thought that was just a rumor going around.

The Clintons are only 3 people. Lots of royal families and political dynasties are only a handful of people.

If anything, I'd say Supes rep is BUILT on stepping in to help prevent/mitigate disasters. That shows he cares enough to save lives, not just beat down the villain of the week (fights that often cause almost as much damage as they might stop).

But anyway, your constant snide asides indicate you aren't going to accept a positive view of anything related to this series, so hey-ho.

Accurate observation is only seen as snide to someone being hyper defensive instead of accepting the truth of the character perception issue.

The point isn't originality (because: duh, the whole thing is an adaptation of a singularly well known Moore/Gibbons comic) the point is execution in terms of emotional depth and characterization.
It's also a problem when a 21min animated show from a decade ago did it better on just about every count
.

Agreed. Again, even the following clips illustrate the emotional, well developed power of the same story:

There's no excuse for the Supergirl episode not being able to be as effective with nearly an hour.

I wonder if we're closer to having John Wesley Snipes actually portraying the flash again. Now the 90's Flash is part of the multiverse for the new Flash TV series.

^I don't know for absolute certain, but I'm pretty sure we've already seen him running around in a black Flash suit all season.

He looks like he's still in pretty good shape for it. Although I think they'd probably have to modernize his suit a bit and make it look less thick, fake and rubbery.
