Spoilers Supergirl - Season 1

I thought so too.

How did Flash get to Supergirl's Earth again? It seemed funny to me that he needed her to get back but didn't need her to get there.

He got there by accident. Apparently just from moving too fast? Which is weird, since previously moving too fast wound up accidentally sending him through time, not dimensions. I suppose it might have had something to do with that thing on his chest.

But that was a major hole in the episode, especially since their solution was again just moving really fast, yet he somehow needed her help to move fast enough. Is he slower on her world or something? If he could accidentally get himself there, his speed should've been enough to get himself back.

I'm in the "head scratching" territory here too :D

I don't hold these Superhero shows to the same standard as I hold trek.

Not sure why really, but I've stuck with this one. I just keep watching it :D

The time barrier is not infinite speed or as fast as Barry can run.

It's a particular exact speed like the sound barrier is a particular exact speed.

If there is a mental component to time travel, which there must be since that's the only way that they explained how Barry navigates to end up within 3 hours of his target and not off kilter by 40 years.

Therefore if he doesn't want to travel through time, he should be able to will himself not to travel through time, while passing through the time barrier, and just run faster without ending up 10 years in to the future.

Nancy Reagan was right: Just say "No (To time travel)".

And it's a really small Barry sized hole ( in the universe) for ####s sake.

Barry can just duck under the wormhole or jump over the wormhole or veer ####ing left while continuing to accelerate.

Even if more wormholes kept appearing as the Flash kept accelerating, it's no worse than the shit Mario and Luigi had to put up with, and those two were drunk on mushrooms the whole time.

Watched it last night.
Three questions:
1) What was that mechanical thing on Barry's chest, and why was it there?
2) When Live Wire did Siobhain's makeover, where did she get the equipment to do molded theatrical latex cheekbone appliances?
3) Anybody can just walk in and out of the DEO secret headquarters now? I can't even get into my office building if I forgot my badge.

Come to think of it, how is it that Kara, Winn and James still have their jobs? The men spend half their time in their secret computer room, and Kara spends most of her time running off on missions.

Barry's slower on his Earth than he should be, let alone Kara's. The latest ep had him reach a new top speed of Mach 3.3, which is laughably slow for a speedster (he certainly shouldn't be dodging energy blasts) and way too low for some of the feats he pulls off in the show (speed afterimages).

Because that description isn't endlessly cliched itself?
Who the hell said it wasn't?

If anything, I was saying that it was hypocritical storytelling; that the characters magically know the new guy is a trustworthy superhero simply because the audience does, whereas in any other situation, he would have been met with deep suspicion until he proved himself repeatedly at the very least, and more commonly treated as a "too good to be true" villain no matter what he did.

The Flash did actually say to Supergirl that he'd never crossed dimensions that way before. It wasn't something he'd expected. That's why he needed help figuring out how to get back.

But the solution was right out of elementary school. The help he ended up needing was to go faster... faster than the speed he didn't need help with to get there.

I'm starting to have one of Janeway's temporal headaches :D

But we don't know the exact circumstances that caused him to cross over to Supergirl's Earth. Since it was an accident, I doubt that he just went fast enough to cross over on his own.Something must have happened that unexpectedly increased his speed beyond what he is normally capable of. This would explain why he needs SG's help to increase his speed to get back.

Considering he was sporting Reverse Flash's tachyon gathering-thing-a-ma-bob, he probably spent all (or at least most) of its fuel on the trip there.

I don't see how it's hypocritical unless these characters have actually treated any reputable, mysterious new superhero in that way, and I'm struggling to think of any applicable examples. Specifically, on Supergirl itself, the only other hero we've even seen (who was new and unknown) is MM, who was revealed by way of having pretended to be someone else for years, so the idea that Supergirl is being written hypocritically for just believing Barry - who acted heroically and hid nothing - really doesn't hold water with me. The situation isn't comparable.

Yes, and we saw the beginnings of that in last night's Flash episode.
Barry went back in time to get Thawne/Wells's help in getting faster, and though it didn't go smoothly, Thawne ended up giving Barry plans for a tachyon device that would increase his speed. And the device we saw Barry wearing in "Worlds Finest" looked a lot like Thawne's tachyon device. So presumably the next Flash episode will show Barry making the device and testing it out. From what the producers have said, it sounds like there will be a bit where he briefly vanishes and returns and says something like "Wow, you won't believe where I've just been."

I guess so. But I could make something up too :D

Now that would at least make some sense. I wish they would have said something to that effect.

Got that, but that doesn't explain why he couldn't use it to get back.

3) Anybody can just walk in and out of the DEO secret headquarters now? I can't even get into my office building if I forgot my badge.

For a secret government base, they have terrible security procedures.

No clue. I genuinely think it was a mistake to make Cat doubt that Kara was Supergirl. It would have been better, over the long run, in a more realistic sense, if she knew, because then Cat could make allowances for what was really more important. Which she did when she told Supergirl that she knew she was Kara that night on the balcony.

Yes, I saw last night's episode of the Flash. It is logical to assume (I sound like Spock) that Barry's trip to SG's Earth is the result of him trying to use the tachyon device since he was wearing the device in the Supergirl episode. But we still don't know the exact details surrounding his trip. Since the tachyon device is new and untested, it would make sense that maybe the first test does not exactly go to plan. I am speculating that Barry tests the device and things go wrong, hence why he accidentally ends up on SG's Earth. It is likely that the device burns out in the trip which would explain why he needed SG's help to get back, rather than just use the device again.

We were promised that "Flash Back" (last night's Flash episode) would give us the setup for "Worlds Finest", and it didn't, which is a problem since it leaves the very real questions you guys have been asking unanswered (possibly forever).
