Spoilers Supergirl - Season 1

And while I love how happy Kara was about Barry getting them ice cream at superspeed, it raises so many questions. I could buy him getting to the ice cream store and back in a split-second, but how did he get the machines to dispense the ice cream that quickly? How did he get the cones back at superspeed without them melting from friction?

The smartest move would be to a) get a container of ice cream (inside a bag of ice?), an ice cream scooper, and cones and then b) scoop the ice cream into the cones from right outside the door.

How did he pay for the ice cream? Would Earth-1 money be legal tender on Supergirl's Earth? If not, does that mean he essentially stole the ice cream?

This part is trickier. The usual gag is that the alternate-dimensional traveler just doesn't think it through and drops off the wrong money type. Barry seems a bit too smart for that one to work, though. Perhaps Supergirl gave him some spending money (just in case)...? Alternatively, I suppose Barry could have done something nice for the store clerk in exchange for the ice cream, but that's a bit ethically dubious given that Barry couldn't have given the store clerk a chance to give consent.

I loved it, corniness and all! That's the second woman on a different show that Grant Gustin has had fantastic chemistry with. Barry had far better chemistry with Felicity than Oliver ever has, and he has better chemistry with Kara than either James or Winn. I hope they do more crossovers with those two.

I agree. This was fun. It made me smile. I'm not going to pick it apart.

The end battle did more to serve the Supergirl story and since it's her show then why not?

They did have great chemistry. Definitely palpable.

(and the ice cream was hard pack--not soft serve. No machine required to dispense.)

I thought everyone would be happy that the poor criminals get due process to be worried about ice cream.

Siobhan was unrecognizable as Silver Banshee but Cat knew who she was right away..
Maybe the same way she figured out Barry Allen. Siobahn exhibits superpower, later supervillain shows up at CatCo, and figures Siobahn = supervillain.

Overall a fantastic episode. I want more!

I wish I could have been there with Winn to geek out over the living proof of parallel universes. That was awesome.

Bit annoyed how the term "metahuman" popped up in the Supergirl-verse with no explanation whatsoever. Not that I needed one, but it seems incongruous to start using it out of nowhere when they have never used it before for the relevant previously established characters.

I suppose it is thematically appropriate that Siobhan's getup makes her look like she's dead, but I would have preferred a mask or maybe some kind of metallic-looking face paint so that Silver Banshee looks cooler.

That was badass how civilians rallied in defense of Supergirl, and those firefighters took down Livewire and Silver Banshee with just a fire hose.

Ha. That Kara-James kiss was a long time coming, but I was not expecting Non's crew to initiate Myriad right at that moment.

Well, who's relevant in that respect, other than Livewire? I don't think Reactron counts, since his powers were technological in origin.

I like it that the same scientific terminology, at least, is in use in both worlds. Heck, if we go with the conceit that all DC adaptations are worlds in the multiverse, then we know there are other worlds that use the term "metahuman," like the world of the Birds of Prey TV series (and wasn't it mentioned in Batman v Superman y Su Wonder Woman Tambien)?

Speaking of shared elements, it's interesting that Earth-Super has a Central City but none of the same individuals inhabiting it. So does Earth-1 have a National City?

Both Reactron and Silver Banshee qualify as Metahumans if you look at how the term is defined in the comics and on The Flash.

I would point out that Lucy clearly understood/recognized the term and its meaning, so it's clearly not an unfamiliar concept even though this is the first time we've heard/seen it used.

Also, as an aside, tonight's episode gave us a gender-swapped Emil Hamilton in the form of DEO physician Amelia Hamilton.

This was a decent episode, probably the first Supergirl has had. Flash was easily the best part of the episode, which wasn't a surprise. Barry and Kara did have better chemistry then they have with anyone on their respective shows, which was interesting. It took 8 minutes for Flash to show up, which really sucked. Silver Banshee wasn't as bad as I expected, I didn't think they'd actually connect her with the mythical banshee. Having her look bew make up was lame, though.

Cat Grant was still Cat Grant, unfortunately. I'm disappointed that we didn't see Banshee melt her head with her sonic scream, but I wasn't really expecting that (just secretly hoping :shifty: ). Her "Blur" conversation was stupid, but about the level of thought I expected from the character. She's no Cisco when it comes to naming.

The ending of the fight was lame. Not the lamest "civilians end superhero fight" I've seen (A certain Marvel Comic storyline has that award), but still pretty lame. Overall, this crossover was ok. It made an episode of Supergirl entertaining, which was impressive (even if it kept teasing me by putting Cat in mortal danger, only to save her at the last minute :sigh: ).

"You all look like the diversity cast of a CW show." The Blur also had a nice ring to the name of the speedster. ;)

Pay attention, Zack Snyder. This is how superhero team-ups are done!

I hardly watched Glee on Fox, but I could see Benoist and Gustin had great onscreen chemistry.

The Flash/Supergirl episode was great fun. I wished we had a better resolution but the crossover moved the Supergirl story forward and provided more of an aftermath to the red Kryptonite than last week's episode did. I knew I would love it so much better than Batman vs Superman and I was right. This show is what I want to see in a superhero show and it definitely delivered.

^I caught the last name, and I was wondering if she was supposed to be the Dr. Hamilton or just a Dr. Hamilton.
That was a lot of fun, and definitely the right way to do a Superhero crossover. I actually did like BvS, but this was still better. I really think this and The Flash show that it is possible to for DC do light, fun stuff without it just feeling like Marvel ripoff.
The explanation for Silver Banshee's powers was not what I expected.
Winn just taking Siobhan to the DEO with no one concerned was a little odd. I know Kara basically just did the same thing but at least he was another superhero who had just saved Kara. We also did see the other agents pull their guns on him, and Lucy freak out a bit.
Winn giving James crap about being jealous of Barry was funny.
Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist had great chemistry. I really hope we get another crossover sooner than later.
I like the civilians helping Supergirl, but I it does kind of undermine the heroes when they aren't the ones to defeat the bad guys, or girls in this case. I think it would have worked out better if the fire fighters had just knocked Silver Banshee and Livewire back long enough for Supergirl and Flash to be able recover and defeat them themselves.
I liked them having to work together to send Barry home.

I have to slightly correct my earlier comment about tonight's episode introducing Doctor Hamilton, because she apparently showed up in "For the Girl Who Has Everything" (albeit credited simply as DEO Doctor) even though I don't remember her being there.
