Super Bowl Commercial on YouTube

I like what I see, especially the visuals. The Enterprise looks great. Also, Kirk, McCoy, Pike and Uhura seem spot-on from what I can see. Bravo, JJ, bravo.

Looks like the port and starboard phaser banks can fire forward. Cool! Always seemed like they'd be able to.

Yeah, so far it's shaping up to be a mighty big adventure with some great SFX, moments of intense character interaction, and I hope that's what we get.

J.

I love the drill smashing San Fran. bay and the cadets running around!

Boy that sucks....

That we have to wait till MAY to see this thing. WOW!

OMG, a young man acting like...a young man?! The nerve of he!

And other then that...OMG this movie is made of win so far.

That shot of the Enterprise opening up her phaser banks...I just can't wait for this film AT ALL.

And

Dude, You have $150 million dollar movie and another 3 million for the superbowl ad. You want to put the best material you can in the trailer.

if thats the "best" material in the movie , were in trouble!:wtf:

Wow, I can't believe people are picking at shit like that.

He's a young man who just got beat the hell up, is drunk and
is getting lectured. Why are you talking to me man? would be
THE response at that point.

Awesome trailer, can't wait till the rest of the world sees it.

yeah, i can really tell from urban saying "leonard mccoy" that his performance is "spot on". your kidding, right?:wtf:

Damn. I am actually starting to get excited about seeing this film. With the hype, and the wait, it is growing on me over time. Even the <choke> redesigned Enterprise. If it is a GREAT movie, and packs people in, all will be forgiven.

I think back to TMP. I LOVED it. I loved the 8 minute fly around of the Enterprise. Everyone who wasn't a Trekkie in 1982 or whatever, HATED it.

So if JJ has to kill Star Trek in order to save it, so be it.

Disclaimer: I am of the school that bad trek is better than no trek.

Well, maybe except for Nemesis.

I seriously hate all the comments about not liking "...man" and "woohoo" part. I mean come on, people aren't allowed to show excitement? People aren't allowed to put some slang in there? It's ridiculous the audacity of some people to make such a big deal outta something trivial.

Couple of observations:

People who don't like the 'Why are you talking to me man' aren't putting it into context. This is Kirk before he joins the academy, he is drunk and he has just been beaten up and hes getting a talking to as though hes a little kid (well hes acting like one) therefore he is going to say something like that.

Its been made clear that Kirk is going to transform during the movie from this into the one we know.

The 'woohoo' is being shouted by the redshirt who then promptly dies.

I just think people are a little put off by by it because Kirk was supposed to be a "stack of books with legs" who "never had any fun" in the Academy- according to his best friend Gary Mitchell in the TOS pilot. I guess people are forgetting this version of Kirk is different- his dad didn't raise him, his step dad did, also that bar brawl takes place before he joins the Academy, before he starts to become a responsible adult, and before Capt Pike gives him a pep talk that challenges him to become a better person. Personally I'm kind of excited to see the character arc of this brash kid becoming the cool captain we all know.

EDIT: Ah, Flake beat me to it.
