Slipknot was our sacrificial lamb, to prove to the characters (and the audience) that the military and Waller were serious about using the explosive implants.
I knew that the moment they announced he was a character in the movie, mainly because my first reaction was "Who the hell is Slipknot?". Him and El Diablo are the least significant characters in the cast, so I knew it was going to be one of them.

Or Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and whatever other DC heroes they'll introduce down the road.
Aquaman did summon many schools of fish and a few whales offscreen.

Being introduced as having the power to climb anything probably should've been a warning sign.

Went into this movie not really sure what to expect, but actually enjoyed it. It's certainly not a perfect movie, but still very enjoyable. It did have too large a cast, IMO and aside from Deadshot and Harley Quinn, not everyone was really utilized that well. Hell, they go into such detail with their backstories only to gloss over everyone else. Still, probably the best DCEU film so far, but it's not like there's any real competition.

The promotion for this movie definitely leads much to be desired, Will Smith is the lead but got hardly any publicity. Jared Leto as the Joker is getting all the attention even though he's only really a supporting character in the movie.

Do you honestly think that after seven films since 1989 (three in the past ten years and not counting the animated ones) that Batman needs ANOTHER introduction to the audience? We all know his story and we all know how he became batman. I'm glad they didnt do like Sony did with Spiderman and waste a movie retelling the same story again.

Didn't say redo origin movie though just to show this new Batman and this new DCEU. They could of introduced new Joker, Harley Quinn and laid the ground work for Batman becoming the killer and broken angry man we saw in BvS especially if Joker was the reason Batman basically snapped maybe after killing Robin in front of him for example. A solo Batman was needed for several reasons for the DCEU.

If the solo Batfleck is a prequel, that could work.

While a Harley Quinn or Deadshot movie could maybe work, I doubt anybody would see Killer Crop, Slipknot, Boomerang, Enchantress or El Diablo movies.

I would've loved an El Diablo movie. Great potential in that character. But I agree, hard to sell.

To be fair, it's been made pretty clear in the JL trailer that Aquaman doesn't really care (yet) about what's going on outside his own corner of the world. And Cyborg probably isn't even active yet.

Miles Dyson attached a mother Box to his kid Vic Sage well before Batman V Superman, which is how Lex Luthor had a vlog about his his son's transformation in Batman V Superman.

There's a difference between being a cyborg and being an active superhero.

Well yes, of course, but even on pessimistic time table, Sage is ready to play when called up to the plate, because the world needs heroes and Superman is dead. He must have noticed that, right? Especially if he "knows" that Darkseid is coming because his mother box is laughing too hard.

Of course Vic is a liability if his whole bit is underline by Apocolyptian technology, you know like when Kirk used the Reliant's prefix codes to turn it's shields off during a fight.

Maybe he's in a coma of convenience.
Takes a while to install Space Windows 10...

I had considered that, but the New Gods probably haven't had a critical update to their firmwear in 80 million years... Besides the claim in the comics is that a mother box is living sentient technology, therefore any system update would be akin to murder.

Are Mother Box OS's from New Genesis and Apokolips identical (neutral personalities) or do they have personalities regionally specific to their homeworld... Or is it a Harry Potter-like sorting hat dealio where Darksied gets the asshole weirdos and Highfather gets the anal retentive OSD wussies from a factory maintained by a third party?

Is Vic's Mother Box evil or Good?

Chaotic Neutral.

Mother Boxes are living computers, with their own personalities and relationship with their wielders.

Dude.

Please.

Dude.

I know they have personalities, but depending on whether that Box is from New Genesis or Apokolips, it's personality is either going to be an utter horror or Ned Flanders in boxform.

If that Father Box had belonged to 47 thousand different parademons over the last 190 million years and been instrumental in the invasion or destruction of 400,000 planets, it may have a penchant for being a sadistic blood hungry dick. Then again because of such a storied history, it might be wanting redemption or asylum, or be such a two faced shit, that screwing over Darkseid is a bit of a laugh, or just possible, living the life it's lead, being Darkseid's slave is so uncool that helping the humans murder Darkseid seems like a good idea. Of course Kirby's definition of the Anti-life equation was about cancelling willpower to create slavery and obedience, so an Apokoliptian Father Box, might just obey anyone, even Darkseid's enemies.

Contrarily a mother box made on New Genesis should be a superhero? It's actually possible that a New Genesisonian Mother Box wouldn't let Vic not be a super hero, it would force him to wage war with all evil as it reared up. Which you know is brainwashing, slavery and thought control. Highfather is a dick too, just because he fights absolute evil, it doesn't mean that he is absolute good. Look what he did to the Bugs, High father has no problem with conscripting lesser species to fight his war against Darkseid.

(sorry)

It is a sincere question.

But inside my rambling, so much rambling, I said that mother boxes are alive with personalities, and your response to the question "is it a good box or a bad box?" was "Mother boxes are alive with personalities".

You didn't answer if you thought it was an evil box from Apokolips, or a good box from New Genesis, your entire answer was that boxes have personalities, when I was asking what sort of personality it had. Depending on where that mother box or father box is from, could outline some sinister limitations to Cyborgs heroism or intentions come the final battle in Justice League II.

I'm never that clear.

Friendly fire.

Sorry.

Saw it a few days ago. Obvious someone with a machete mugged the editor at some point.

C - middle of the road, good characters, obvious Marvel ripoff nonsense plot.

By having Thanos sit on his ass (seriously do something goddamn it) and info dump on the Infinity stones 3 frickin times.

The real question is, will I bother to watch the movie where that guy does whatever it is he does with those things he has? Or will that have been a giant waste of time inserting those scenes because I need to consult a wiki to even know what those scenes are about? A question for the ages.
