Stupid tv shows that you're obsessed with

My stupid show is the Deadliest Catch....

I don't find that show stupid at all. It's a pretty compelling documentary about commercial fisherman if you ask me.

That's the weird thing about "reality TV." It actually covers at least three disparate categories - documentaries (some of which can be very good), game shows (usually bad and brainless), and how-to shows (which can be educational).

It was said on page 2 but I don't even group it with 'stupid' as much as I'd call it an "alternative" approach. That show being Ancient Aliens.

I don't find "Reality Shows" that entertaining as a whole but wouldn't even call Storage Wars or Pawn Stars 'stupid'. Stupid imo are the ones with people hamming it up such as Housewives, Kardashians, Bacholor, Survivor, Big Brother, Celebrity Apprentice etc.

I think some "Reality Shows" are and can be good, such as Kitchen Nightmares, Hoarders, Biggest Loser, Intervention etc.

And if they sing or dance it's also wasted air time imo. One of each is more than enough.

Not sure if this is the same thing, but I watch Chelsea Lately religiously. And I've enjoyed several reality competitions: Survivor, America's Next Top Model, etc.

And I really enjoyed Face Off, Syfy's monster makeup competition last season . . . .

^ Thanks for reminding me, I forgot my most embarrassing current obsession. Made in Chelsea.

Spongebob. *Hangs head in shame*

There's no shame in watching SpongeBob Squarepants. :techman:
Cartoons get a pass in my book as well. Even though SpongeBob isn't my thing.

I've just watched a library full of animated Superman cartoons the past 6 weeks that I've bought.
The '41 Fleischer(sp) serial cartoon shorts
The '66 New Adventures of Superman
The '88 Ruby/Spears Superman cartoon that only lasted one season. Heavily influenced by Chris Reeves movies.
The '96-00 Superman Animated Series

The '66 New Adventures of Superman
To this day, I still remember seeing the Parasite episode back as a first run, or near first run. It blew my mind at the time because
Superman intentionally KILLED the Parasite. He let the Parasite drain too much of his power, knowing that it would kill him because "his earth body was too frail to contain the superpower of a man from Krypton."

I love Auction Hunters for sure, another show that is run back to back to ensure maxium time sink :)

a least once a year I'll watch my way through S1/2 of Dark Angel too ,I loved that show

It's coming back so I think it counts. I loved Fear Factor when it was on originally. It seemed like everyone was turned off by the eating challenges, but they came up with some awesome stuff and the competition and trash talking were great. I might be watching when it comes back.

Like the original poster I've started becoming addicted to "Storage Wars". It's become borderline awesome to me now. Watched a random episode about a month or so ago and have become hooked. My favourite auction hunter is Barry...with Brandi and Jarrod second. I hate Dave.

I see "Storage Wars" and I keep reading it as "Storage JARS." :guffaw:

Does anyone like Dave? He's such a douche.

I don't really watch a lot cable tv anymore, but as I live with those who do, I tend to walk through and get hooked by whatever is on.

Recently I've become enamored with:
-Storage Wars
-Auction Hunters
-Pawn Stars
-Gold Rush
-Millionaire Matchmaker (There was a marathon the other day... sigh)

Docudrama's if done well, can be pretty entertaining. (Whether the premise is stupid or not)

Also... I looked into Barry's net worth because I couldn't understand why he was dropping money on units and trashing most of it. (He's a collector apparently...)

But he's estimated at around 7 million dollars. (Plus whatever he gets paid for doing the show. lol) Gotta love those classic cars of his.

While I've been in Philly visiting friends we've torn through about 8-10 episodes of Storage Wars. I like Barry, appreciate how Dave is the serious one even if he comes off as an ass and now wait for Playboy to offer Brandi a pictorial.

We also watched the first episode of the Texas spinoff and not one of those characters came off as interesting. Not one. It won't last.
