Steven Moffat reveals the one thing he’d do differently if he was in charge of Doctor Who again

They’re just Easter eggs for fans; perhaps not quite like waiting to hear “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” in a Star Wars film but they’re in similar vein. A quote or line that makes some nod their heads, while it goes over the heads of others.

It's as if Moffat can't come up with classic lines all by himself.

Two of the modern era's most memorable lines were written by him. "Are you my mommy?" and "Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey." I will agree he recycles lines and phrases quite often.
