I’d agree regarding DSC over TFF
But over season 1 of TNG? I’d have to disagree. Although tng s1 had its stinkers (Wesley steps on the flowers is sentenced to death, Tasha is to become the property of some king or other...) I find much of that season rewatchable. I don’t find DSC rewatchable in the same way - I don’t think “ooh I’ll sit down and watch DSC tonight with my dinner”. No, I get more enjoyment out of TNG. DSC is a slog sometimes and I really have to be in the mood for it.
But each to their own. I’d also agree that s1 of tng was definitely the weakest with the first half of s2 and s7 coming in joint second.
... And TNG's first season is far more satisfying than the first season of TOS!
I'll take it over first three seasons of TNG, if put to it.

Let’s be fair, it did much more intentional character development. And the Naked Now is marginally better than the Naked Time, from a certain point of view. If it’s a choice between backless dress yar versus shirtless Sulu, slicked back hair versus slicked up pecs...well. I would give it to TNG. others mileage may vary. And yes, I suppose TNG did get Wesley....but...
