There's always the tiny chance of four 10K donations just in the nick of time ... the Midnight Redshirts! ("It's a Christmas miracle!")
Curiously, they've taken down yesterday's FB post that said they hadn't been asked to stop production. Don't know what that may signify.
But I'm assuming it's still true...
New Voyages state they have not been contacted. No idea why James took the Facebook page down, but the website is just undergoing maintenance. They're also busy doing set construction this weekend, so I don't think there's any reason for anyone to doubt their word. As I said to someone else the other day, there's no conspiracy here.Funny, i was thinking the exact opposite, namely the statement could have been a "warrant canary" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warrant_canary).
After the "disappearance" of NV's online presence last week, i already tought, that CBS might not have liked the press, they got for their call to Tommy Kraft and added a "don't speak about this in public" condition to their call.
Ah, that makes sense. Maybe they should have used Vic's picture, but in all fairness it's hard to know the proper thing to do when STC is quoting TOS.Looks like Shatner was just giving Vic some grief on twitter over the use of screencaps from TOS with him in them, saying they imply Shatner is involved with the fundraising. That could explain some of the disappearing posts.
All the more reason to do an On Demand extension.Kipleigh Brown who plays Ensign (apparently now Lt. Smith) on STC is in the most recent video posted to the STC FB page. It's a pretty good pitch on her part I must say.
Candidly I think they should have had the cast making these videos much earlier than at this eleventh hour, but better late than never I suppose. Of course early on they likely didn't forsee how this contribution drive would falter to this extent.
If calls from CBS were going out to other productions the word would definitely get out. That sort of thing simply wouldn't remain secret.
If AP is any example for some of his followers then I can easily believe this very thing is happening. They are stupidly setting out to wreck something they profess to care about to save something else that is already in the trash bin.I can only conclude that there is a disinformation war occurring in which one sub-group in the fan base is intentionally spreading disinformation which adversely impacts another part of the fan base.
That behavior is despicable.
When the dust settles and the air clears Vic will be remembered for someone who kept his word and delivered not only on what was promised but more than what was promised. Meanwhile AP will be remembered as an underacheiving, lying, petulant shmuck.

As far as I can tell, multiple donations from the same person are registered separately in the donor count on Indiegogo. I wonder how many distinct individual donors there have been in this campaign.
Kickstarter, I thought, was different in that you could change your perk level up or down at any time because the money wasn't transferred till the end. I never tried getting multiple perks on Kickstarter (and I'm not sure it's possible under the same registration), but I have on Indiegogo. Even under the same registration, it seems that the different donations are counted as separate "donors."Yes since you can pick how you want to be "registered" each time you make a donation. I personally made two under different "names". I suspect it's not that uncommon. I wonder if it was the same with Kickstarter?
