Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

The greatest problem with potential spin-off Star Trek Titan is that hero ship Titan-A looks so similiar to hero ship Enterprise in SNW. We would have two shows with ship that actually has no real difference, especially when we talk about 150 years of difference. Up is Titan, down is Enterprise. Where is design imagination of producers? In 1980s they created master peace Enteprise D. Titan-A is just an small upgrade to original Constitution.

Well, the Titan is a Connie III. It only stands to reason they would resemble each other.

This article refers to the "official" instagram posts by production sources. The article must have been approved by Paramount or it would have been taken down/edited until it was.

The old Star Trek.com canon page has been taken down as that policy is no longer in effect.

Again, times change.
That isn't a direct paramount source.

I'm sure they did. But the design cues make it look larger than that.
I disagree. it clearly has less decks than the NX-01.

Besides it wouldn't be the first time a ship didn't match it's actual size in this season. The official scale for the Titan-A is 560m, but the windows all still match the original Shangri-La which is 290 something.

The original Connie was 289m and refit was 305m by official paramount production sources for decades .. See how well that turned out.

Sorry.. But Enterprise was the only series that gave a damn about keeping sizes and look constant.

"Larger than 119 meters" doesn't mean "the same exact size as the NX-01."

The official Length is 119.X meters, that's stated by one of the production designers on the show.
So you need to re-adjust your LxWxH to match the stated "Official Length"

I think IRW's point is that the ship was designed to be larger than 119 meters. The size of the airlock and the scale of the escape pods on the approval model match a much larger ship. As seen in the episode, the size of the docked shuttle and the removal of the escape pods suggest it was scaled down for the final design.

Didn't Enterprise claim the Defiant was 400ish metres long?

They never gave a length on screen, but Doug Drexler's cutaway of the Connie which was used in that episode is scaled to 400 range so the TOS set heights can fit inside.

The side by side shots of the NX-09 and the Defiant, I don't think it is 400 meters long if you go with the NX-Class being 225 meters long, which also isn't canon but was used by VFX team.

the at warp shot the Avenger looks like it could be 225, but not that other shot, it looks way smaller
