I've reached a point where none of that matters to me now. They can say the entire creative team behind Discovery is made up of Devil-Worshiping Anti-Christs or Retcon-Worshiping Anti-Genes and I wouldn't care.

I honestly don't know why people have problems with square nacelles. The TMP refit era nacelles weren't exactly round either.

It's not that they're square or rectangular in shape. It's that so many of the ones in DSC are, well, kinda ugly. Or really ugly.

I actually really love the long, lean nacelles of the Crossfield-class. It (and some of the other design choices) gives the design a distinctive look that was needed for a new Star Trek hero ship.

Actually, most of Star Trek's hero ships are beautiful designs to me. The only exceptions are the Voyager and the Defiant...and I give the latter a pass because it was not meant to be a sexy design.

But all the versions of the Enterprise (NX through E) have their own special beauty...as does the Discovery.

Im not a fan of the Kelvinverse Enterprise, but I certainly don't dislike it either. I think the only design that really doesn't sit with me is the Voyager.

The D and the C were not a favorite of mine, but I can appreciate some facets. The Defiant I agree is ugly on purpose but I always liked the Intrepid design. Also, absolutely love Kelvin Enterprise.

But, I really like the Discovery starships presented, including the Enterprise, aside from some minor details.

Yep. Honestly, most warp nacelles after TOS and TMP are inferior to the ones in that series and the first six films. But these new ones in DSC are in a class by themselves.

HOLD UP ONE MINUTE. My Making of First Contact book says the similarities between Voyager and the E-E were entirely fluke, and Eaves hadn't even seen Voyager.
