Stargirl Season 2 - Discussion ( Spoiler Warning)

I enjoy how Sportsmaster and Tigress are really loving, supportive parents who just happen to be evil. Fun episode!

Still wonder how Rick affords all that food he feed Grundy.
Yeah. That was a good reversal on the trope. Usually in that situation, the parents don’t really care much for their children.

Finally got to see the new ep! Love the Crocs and now I get how
how they will be regulars next season - they love their daughter and won't be happy with her being used.
I also loved how the moms bonded. I was very happy to see back the caring & compassionate Courtney I've grown to love. It was also good to see some depth in both Cindy and Shade. The Bruce Gordon stuff was lovely. A good episode all around for me.

I didn’t realise Prime in the UK gets the new episode just before midnight on the day. I’ve been staying up till 1am to watch it on the CW for no reason it seems. :)
I enjoyed this episode. They’re doing well with the spooky stuff. Especially the beginning one. I don’t know how they will get Pat’s son to join them though. That seems a bit of a stretch.

Does the staff give Courtney a immunity to Eclipso’s abilities? She was the only one not freaking out

Great episode!

Eclipso's menace has been stepped up. The face in the paint was scary! Ominous weather is always a Bad Sign. Shade's little talk with Barb was very interesting - it sounds like she reminds him of a relative from his original life, which I think was in the Victorian era. Also, as much as he tries to pretend he doesn't care, he does. :)

The staff seems light-based and saved the teacher, so it may be giving Courtney some protection. Also, didn't Pat say it had something to do with the JSA beating Eclipso back in the day?

I keep yelling at the TV, "PAT! TELL COURTNEY EVERYTHING! IT MIGHT SAVE HER LIFE!" but he doesn't listen.

Cameron has a thing for Courtney! That was so sweet. She needs to learn to lie a little. She could've said it was her mom texting her to get home before the storm hit - he might've been less hurt.

Speaking of the Mahkent's - Grandma is scary! Originally, I thought they were just followers of one or more Norse Gods, but now I'm wondering if they're not human. Frost giants? Or have I been watching too much Ragnarok on Netflix (https://www.netflix.com/title/80232926) ?

Poor Beth! Her parents really suck. And Mike is somehow the key to Cindy's plans. Is it just wanting to hurt the Dugans? Or does she know something about Mike that no one else does?

I am looking forward to Cindy finding out that nobody "controls" Eclipso.

I wonder if they decided to write the bad weather into the story because they realised that they weren't fooling anyone that it was actually summer when it was being shot?

Captain Boomerang certainly got an upgrade. The makeup is pretty impressive but I did get a Power Rangers vibe off him. He's a bit like Ivan Ooze.
Other than that the action sequence was nicely done. It was longer than I expected and the transitions between them were good. The ending was pretty scary but I don't think that's the last we have seen of Cindy.

Impressive episode. The fight choreography in the battle between the JSA and the Teen ISA was very impressive, aside from the wirework being a bit too obvious (I figure the ceiling must have been added digitally). The sequence where they cut from one hero to another in the same pose multiple times was inspired.

Although it bugged me that the JSA just stood there dumbly for over a minute while Eclipso killed Isaac. But maybe they were just worn out from their earlier acrobatics.

Oh, and it also bugged me that Artemis seemed to match Hourman's strength and endurance, since she wasn't injured by getting smashed through solid walls and porcelain and such. Did we know she was superstrong?

I noticed from the signage in the junkyard that the big bearded guy helping Pat with the robot is named Zeek, not Zeke. I wondered if that was a reference to a DC character, maybe one of the multitude of Silver Age imps, but the DC Database doesn't list any of that name. So if he's an original character, that's an odd spelling choice.

If she is, she's the first version of Artemis Crock that I know of that does.

Unless they're somewhat conflating her with Artemis al Bana-Mighdall (The Dark Age Wonder Woman) which would be... weird.

Great episode, felt like a finale (but happily there's no break!) I don't think there's any chance Cindy is dead, I've seen enough of these type of shows to know that being dragged into some dark portal looking thing just means she's in some (probably horrible) other dimension. Liked how Cindy and the others got in over their heads working with Eclipso. They are all just kids.

I guess it could be considering a disappointment that Cindy never tried to recruit Mike to her team, as we were led to belive she would? I didn't mind though; there was no credible way Mike would ever join them. He's just fundamentally too good a kid to believe Cindy's shit.
