So we are up to date. Dont see the show getting picked up but still hopeful. Just wonder when the other 10 episodes will air?

I believe if you factor in the Live+7 ratings, the audience hasn't gotten smaller since Season 1, just less people are watching it on Tuesday than those who did on Friday.

Hopefully Syfy moves the second half of season 2 back on Friday.

Yeah, the mid-season break isn't going to do the show any favors. SyFy will keep it short if they are smart.

By this time into a season we knew SG-1 and SG-A's fate so hopefully that means SYFY are considering moving the show to friday nights and will give it 2 or 3 episodes in that slot before the call is made. SYFY should bring SG-U back in late January on Fridays at 10pm so it would end end of March/early April and then Sancuarty can finish off its own run.

Asssuming all works out we could have SGU run from July to October and then January to April. Sanctuary then could run the October-December and April to June slot so virtually all year round use of the 10pm slot.

I've read on Gateworld that this season ends with a big cliffhanger (again). If it is cancelled, that's going to be a bummer for the fans.

Lets hope it keeps going up and goes way up next week. Lets hope we get another season cause im finally liken this show. Still not sold on the misson but enjoy everything else.

SYFY are keeping very quiet about SGU, I don't know whats going off with them, by now normally we would know something as they judge the first 10 on pickups. They must know if Eureka/Warehouse 13 aired at this time against major network shows they would drop as well.

I am still hoping with Sanctuary dropping to similar ratings on a better night we might see SYFY adopt both of them sharing the friday slot over the course of 12 months.

There's a Eureka/Warehouse 13 special on the tuesday after SGU goes off the air. I have a feeling they'll be using those ratings as a gauge on whether or not to renew SGU.

Bingo

They would need a good 200,000 pick up going into the break to justify keeping the show if it only goes up 100,000 then watch out if they 4 month nix this show...people will forget.

Since there's ten more episodes in the bank, SyFy might sit on their renewal decision for a while (depending on when the second half of the season will air).

Well they have to finish S2 at least, they've filmed them, and its in the bag as far as S2 goes. S3 though, yeah, that's up in the air, until there is official notice of a renewal, who knows.

Im sure they will need to know in the next few weeks so they can start writing new episodes. Im sure however they will know now if they have been renewed or not.

Browsing through old news articles, it looks like the season two pick-up was announced December 17, 2009, and production began in March 2010. The second half of season one began airing in April 2010. According to a now-dead link on the SGU Wikipedia entry, Syfy had announced the second half of season two would air "spring 2011."

If Syfy wants a hypothetical season three to maintain the same schedule, presumably a renewal decision would be made by January at the latest. If, however, the ratings are considerably worrisome, it's conceivable that Syfy could choose to wait and base a renewal decision on how the first few episodes after the return fare, and simply start season three in a different schedule than seasons one and two were.
