Stargate SG1 show. any fans?

I think Gul Dukat was in line with Go'auld style thinking:

If Stargate was real, there'd be pretty much no question Trump is a gu'ald. He's basically a far more successful Setesh.

Narcissism, check. False godhood, check. Cult like worship, check. In the world where Stargate mythology is reality, there's basically no question.

So you're really going to let your Trump Derangement Syndrome ruin a nice thread? Too bad. I was enjoying myself.

Ha, I forgot about that's what his fans called rationally observing the behavior of a narcissistic reality show host who runs businesses into bankruptcy.
No, it's what people with common sense call injecting politics in conversations that aren't political just to insult him, like if I went out of my way to invent a Jaffa language phrase that translates to "Let's go, Brandon."

Season 1, its really messed up that Kowalski can easily take down a death glider by using a rocket launcher while O Neil and Teal C couldnt even make a dent when using those laser blast stick things.

the hell is that nonsense?

The special edition of the pilot adds a second Glider to the battle for O’Neill and Teal’c to successfully disable with their staff weapons for exactly that reason. They don’t shoot it down, but it does fly off smoking heavily after they fire at it.

That's not what I'm doing. I'm pointing out an individual person whose personality traits are consistent with those of a gu'ald. Not mentioning anything about the republican party, I'm making a joke about a narcissistic individual. You're the one who brought up the 'Trump derangement syndrome' garbage. Which yes, is a phrase made up by Trump cultists to insinuate anyone who doesn't worship him is deranged.

Criticizing an individual person for bad behavior isn't automatically political just because that person has taken a political side. The aspects of his behavior I mentioned were equally true about him before and after he ran for President. It's no different than if I said the same thing about Tom Cruise or Voldemort.

Bringing a real life politician into a thread celebrating a fictional narrative that has nothing to do with real life politics is exactly what you're doing.

And it's GO-A-ULD, genius.

Not mentioning anything about the republican party,

No, just a prominent member of it.

I'm making a joke about a narcissistic individual.

No, you're equating an egotistical blowhard to slavers and mass murderers. That is not just "making a joke" about him.

No, like I already stated, you're deranged because you went out of your way to bring Donald Trump into a discussion he had no place in just to insult him.

Criticizing an individual person for bad behavior isn't automatically political just because that person has taken a political side.
Being a former President of the United States is more than just "taking a side," and any interaction involving a current or former President has a political aspect to it.
The aspects of his behavior I mentioned were equally true about him before and after he ran for President.
But had he never been President you most likely would have been indifferent to his hijinx, like most people were. Now, you're comparing him to fictional slavers and murderers because you didn't get enough of lambasting him during his term.
It's no different than if I said the same thing about Tom Cruise or Voldemort.

But you didn't say it about Tom Cruise or Voldemort. It's no different only in that they have no place in this discussion either.

I'm blocking this guy. We had to hear about Trump every day for five years straight no matter how tyrannical or hateful his polices and he complains the moment anyone makes fun of him. If you want to whine about your Godking being made fun of go to TNZ. Making fun of public figures is fair game. Your guys take any opportunity to call things "Woke" and appear to have "Pelosi Derangement Syndrome", by your own standards. Trump is a public figure. He's fair game. All celebrities are fair game whether you like them or not, whether they are politicians are not. Sorry your feelings are hurt by my making fun of a celebrity, a lot more people's feelings are hurt by ads that say we should ban an entire religion from the country "Just until we figure out what's going on".

Making fun of Trump is fair game just as making fun of any other celebrity. I rarely block anyone but I'm blocking you. Now let's get back to talking about Stargate. Feel free to compare democrats to gu'alds if you want, I promise I won't be a pedantic baby about it like you have. You worship a guy who hates half the country, you have to deal with him being made fun of sometimes. Grow the f*** up and deal with it.

And none of this has anything to do with Stargate SG-1, which is the thread topic. Now, I would have been happy to meet you in a thread whose purpose is to discuss real life politicians and trade barbs with you about them there, but you blocked me, right? So, no point. Peace!

Getting back on topic, who is your favorite non-Goa'uld villian in the show, if you have one? Mine has to be Senator/Vice President Robert Kinsey, played to perfection by Ronny Cox, who is THE MAN. He was a perfect stereotype of a politician, in the game solely to gain power for himself and his cronies and for some reason wanted the SGC under his direct control. He once got so close to achieving that goal that he had to be shut down by Thor himself, and then got sent packing by President Henry Hayes with the greatest line of the series: "Bob, I have enough on you to have ya shot."

What say you, Little Tall?

Non Goa’uld villans I sort of remember:

Replicators

Senator Kinsey & NSD or whatever the name of that clandestine agency was, who had the 2nd stargate and stole alien tech, before getting busted.

As for Maybourne
IMO he was an antagonist who indeed became somewhat of an ally, especially towards the end.
Never thought of him as a dangerous villain though, but more of a foil for O‘Neill and SG1. As far as I remember O‘Neill let him go instead of turning him in.

I think Maybourne counts, especially toward the beginning.

I think it was the episode where Hathor took over the SGC when Carter trusted him to help and he screwed her over. Her reaction: "Maybourne, you're an ass every day of your life! Couldn't you have taken one day off??"

That was actually the episode Foothold from the third season, the one where alien impostors took over the SGC by swapping places with and posing as the base's personnel. Carter managed to escape their clutches, went to Maybourne, who in turn got in contact with the aliens, as he didn't believe her claims they were impostors. It's when Fake O'Neill and Fake Daniel show up to escort Carter back to the SGC that she says that line to Maybourne.

I stand corrected. I've always associated that line with the Hathor ep since I haven't seen either episode in ages.

One thing I noticed in the episode that introduces the Tollan. What's his name the friendly one said "I never thought I'd see a live animal".

This might be a telling statement that there's more elements in Tollan history they are not mentioning. Because it sounded a lot like the disaster that destabilized their planet happened in his lifetime. So animals other than humans were extinct prior to that. It makes you wonder if the Tollan caused an environmental catastrophe as they are developing just as humans on Earth are now, and they just barely managed to keep a few humans alive somewhere, who then developed means to replace the ecological functions of animals to leave and reclaim their planet.

The Tollan first appeared in "ENIGMA", and Narim said that. I always liked his character. He really shines in "BETWEEN TWO FIRES"... especially at the end.
