The thing is that the SGC wants effective weapons, which staff type weapons are not. Most likely, Area 51 would try to make a scaled up version of the Kull Warrior wrist guns, which were a lot more effective as a weapons system than the bog standard staff cannon, and refit them on to existing platforms. The problem is that Area 51 seems to be building everything, so probably they can't free up so space to build Tau'ri Jumpers. Not to mention the fact that they might not be as responsive as Ancient built Jumpers in terms of deceleration (which is real important when you need to stop before you hit the Control Room).

That's why I also mantioed the Alkesh bombers, the weapon on one of those is like the machine gun version of a Staff weapon.

It's called decelerating BEFORE you enter the Stargate. Yes if you're being chased and shot at you wanna get through quickly but if it's got shields and is made entirely of Trinium it's going to be able to take a pounding whilst it passes through the gate, or at least gets to the gate, at that point it can turn its shield off and pass straight through.

You guys are overthinking all of this way too much. Did Area 51 somehow come up with away to spare Sheppard and Zelenka from that ridiculous cliffhanger? No.

Blargh.

Sorry but that was terrible. After the outstanding 'First Contact', this was the usual shitty second part of a SG two parter.

Boring, dull, Daniel was terrible, that last scene was awkward and badly acted beyond belief, the Asgard revelation was a let-down, the way the Travellers ships can suddenly destroy Asgard ones was laughable, and the whole thing was just far too slow and dull.

Oh and Keller was AWWWWFUL. The way she said "Gee, I hope not" when Ronan suggeted that Todd would kill her straight away, made me cringe.

It all ended too quickly.

They packed every possible cool scene in part 1, and had zilch left for part 2.

The hyperspace thing was cool at the end, but that's it.

What a waste.

A bit disappointing after last weeks.

If Todd intended for all the crew to die, why didn't he feast on them first?

None of them had weapons, and noone would even know it had been done if their plan worked.

As others have said the traveler ship showing up was incredibly convenient, to the point of being unbelievable.

We all knew it would be easy for them to get another stargate, but if in next weeks episode there isnt even any damage to the gateroom I'll be pissed.

Todd knows that the Daedalus isn't the only ship Earth has and his plan might not have worked. Worst case scenario, the Wraith remain stuck where they are and they've got a technologically advanced society that's already done the Wraith a huge amount of damage looking for their ships to pick off with their advanced weapons and working hyperdrives.

If the deadelous crew survived, then Atlantis will be after Todd for trying to kill the crew, if they hadn't survived they would be after him for actually killing them.

Either way they are coming after him, so why not have a good meal first?
