Just saw the preview. I'm looking forward to it! Just like Prodigy, I think Starfleet Academy will be the unexpected find.
Except that the young Chakotay referred to that Captain Sulu as a "he."

Assuming the wall lists Medal of Honor winners or something similar, it's entirely believable Preston would be there. He stood to his post while the rest of the engineering crew was panicking, and no doubt Scotty and Kirk put in recommendations that he should be commended.Having Preston randomly in there with all the other names makes so little sense to me. In-universe, I don't think a newbie cadet would be on equal footing with some of the most legendary names to have graduated from the Academy.
One of the recent articles said that Giamatti was quoted as saying that TOS was a big part of he and his dad's interactions and that his "dream acting job" would be on Star Trek.I will be 50, Lord willing, when this comes out in 2026. I know I am not the target audience. I am interested in it. To have respected veteran actors like Giamatti and Hunter to say yes, when they definitely had to read the script, gives me promise too. Giamatti is not doing Star Trek just to do Star Trek.
Heh ... on first glance, I thought it read that SAM was a Kardashian.
Soooo... Just TOS and its movies then? The names and ranks actually prove that Starfleet Academy takes place in a different universe that does not interfere with the Sacred Timeline.
