Game Starfield

I just got to Neon city, stunning when you first touchdown.......this game is doing ot all right for me, letting me walk off the path and go and do all the side quests i can take....great stuff.

Got all hyped up to play, but can't play. I have an AMD Radeon RX 580 8 GB graphics card, and while the game is smooth as silk even on high settings, a bunch of textures are missing, including walls, bodies, faces, pieces of ships, and environmental textures. It seems to be something to do with the Polaris/Vega chipset.

Hopefully there will either be a patch, or a modder will be able to fix the issue. Until then, I have to wait. :/

I am still using the mining laser, but i am trying not to use weapons that much and trying to find peacefull solutions, so i am in the proccess of upping my persuade skill, at level 2 so far.....game is just massive, i have not even started the main quest yet. Lol

Anyone have a favourite weapon yet? I'm loving the Equinox Laser/Energy rifle.

I have been using suppressed weapons a lot. I've always preferred them in games with guns and now there's bonus damage with the right passives but I've been using lasers more and more too. Really, I usually settle in with a weapon and stick with it but I've used more of a variety this time. That may be though because my character still feels new to me so I haven't settled in just yet.

Ohh and one epic suppressed maelstrom weapon with corrosion damage is awesome as well as the handgun you're given if you help the colonists near Paradiso. Now if I come across an NCR style sniper rifle, I will be in heaven (that was my main gun through many many hours and playthroughs of New Vegas).

So I made it to the Lodge, gave the Artifact to Sarah(?) and have got a bunch of side missions opened up on New Atlantis as well as what I presume is the main quest. Any advice here? Main or side quests? Is there a greater benefit of doing one over the other first?

Typically I do every last side quest but I really want to build ships.

I got to the lodge and since then have done nothing but side missions, and some of the side missions seem games themselves with how long they are......great stuff, so yeah get into those side missions, and a little tip, some will require you to have skills open like sneak and hack. ;)

This game is just so good.

I did a bunch of side missions and then I unlocked a few more companions. I finally unlocked Andrejas last night (I wanted to get to her because I read she's less judgmental than other companions). Now that I can bring her along for faction stuff and quests the other companions might get upset about I will probably go back to doing planetary side quests and faction quests for a good long while. I tend to stretch out the main story for as long as I can because once I finish a main campaign it's always hard for me to stick with that playthrough. It shouldn't bother me but I feel done at that point and whatever motivation my character has to be out there every day doing various things feels over when the main mission ends.

^^^You can play the game the game with just your charactor, just dismiss the comp and they will head back to the ship, makes doing the factions side missions easy.

That might be a good idea. I have Andreja and, God, does she need some serious psychological help. Every now and then, I will hear her saying, "Can we talk?" The conversation turns into a counseling session with my character being the sympathetic and compassionate therapist and her character being the client.

I am exploring the locations and gaining levels. I am up to level 25 and explored about 5 or 6 systems.

^^They will still want to question you a over the choices you make in certain missions, but if you want to get that stealth up it is best to go it alone, than have them running in and alerting everyone. lol

TBH, the companions are written well in terms of how they act normally but are awful with the morality system they use. I finished a faction quest and I have to have a debriefing 'talk' with each one of them even though they weren't there? I had Andrejas wait outside when I did a Ryujin quest only to have her bust into the office with a 'can we talk?' prompt. It's one thing for them to like or dislike something I do but I don't need a lecture on everything I do.

What ever people do, do the side missions, as not only are some of the story lines greaqt, but the gear rewards are fantastic, all the way froma gun right up to a ship.......so do not miss the side missions, hell i am only doing side missions and i am now 3 ships in the bank for free. :)

I've gotten the Mantis stuff which is awesome and the Ranger stuff. What other side quests should I look for?

I'm convinced that whoever wrote the morality system and morality dialogue didn't write the actual companions. I'll give you an example... I was doing a quest with Sam in tow and he suddenly wants to talk. He tells me about his past and some of the things he did when he was young. As soon as that talk is over I resume questing and there's a choice on what to do with an NPC and Sam is like 'no matter how small the crime' or something to that effect 'you have to bring them in.' And I'm like - really? You just gave me an example from your past where you were given leniency but you want me to squash this guy?

I swear I should be doing a "Let's play" on Starfield bc these companions are giving me fits.

I have never experienced a game with so many audio issues. I had to stop playing the game when the audio went wonky, and I attempted a new game where I discovered that I could not hear the dialog. The issue began when I got into a battle with spacer ships. This is on the XBOX X game console, so it is not a PC issue alone.

I finished the main story quest, and I loved it so much. There's a strong, emotional, thoughtful group of ideas behind it, and I feel all the richer for having played it. I hope to spend many more hours just playing around in this universe. Wonderfully done, kudos to Bethesda.

Weird, i am also playing this game in the series X and apart from a few crashes, the game has been a utter joy to play so far, and for a Bethesda game it has been a really good stable game at launch, when we were all expecting another F76, so i have no idea what could be causing your audio issues, are you using any external audio equipment?
