Game Starfield

The bugs in this game are hilarious. I especially love the security guards in their underwear in Akila. They had the nerve to tell me to take off my spacesuit as well.

No Man's Sky had a controversial start because of procedurally-generated emptiness. Is Starfield better?

^^^Yes, way better in every way, SF is a cross between Fallout, NMS and Elite dangerous, it has a really good rep system, the ship building is way too much fun, the main missions are great, the side missions are great, and it is a stunning game, point in case i just landed on Titan and was blown away by the cold weather system and lighting, it is stunning, closest you will get in a video game to standing outside on a winters night in a light snow downfall.

Oh and i am playing on the series X, and the game looks fantastic.

Weird, i am also playing this game in the series X and apart from a few crashes, the game has been a utter joy to play so far, and for a Bethesda game it has been a really good stable game at launch, when we were all expecting another F76, so i have no idea what could be causing your audio issues, are you using any external audio equipment?

I tested other games, and the audio is fine. What i have to do is uninstall the game and reinstall it for it to work. The issue begins when I get into a battle, either with ships or with troops. In the latest instance, I boarded a dirge, where I fought the enemy. The sound changed to where it sounded like a muted echo. It is strange. This is the third time during this playthrough.

A very strange bug indeed, as apart from the odd crash when loading a new place, i have been very impressed by how good a state this game has launched in, and i have been jumping from the series X to the series S when playing, so i wonder why some are getting it and some are not, on the same hardware.......do you use quick resume by any chance as i see on some forums people are stating the audio issues are appearing when they start the game from quick resume.....and also some saying the issues hapoens when you have too many save files, this one could be true because on Fallout 4 if you had too mave saved games it would cause the game to crash to desktop or impact big time on fps.

It happened again. 4 times in one week.

I don't use quick resume. I go into the regular menu and pick the latest save. I am having to uninstall and reinstall the game to solve this issue. Considering that it takes about two hours to install the game, this is a very serious issue. The issue is appearing more frequently and, at the rate it is appearing, I won't be able to continue playing the game.

As for saves, I attempt to keep it to a minimum. I got a warning message about the number of saves several days ago and since then I have kept the saves to a few.

I'm playing on Series X and haven't had a single problem - it looks stunning too.

This is why I prefer console even though I'm an IT professional - the fact it's a fraction of the cost is a bonus too.

Things to try, delete the games local cache(do this while off line), how much storage do you have left as some ssd get slower the with less space, some one on another forum said their audio issues were sorted by ticking HDM-CEC on their xbox settings, and the most simple, try another hdmi, as a hdmi cable going bad can affect sound and picture.

After the last re-installation, I received this message: "This save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available. Continue loading? Constellation Old Mars". These objects are skins.

The last re-installation did not solve all the audio issues. I may have to give up on this game.

As this is only impacting a small number of players, I do not expect Bethesda will do anything to fix it.

Well, I played the game after the last re-installation. I was in a deserted robotics facility and my character was killed. When the game began again, the sound issue had returned. I am beginning to notice that every time my character is killed now, the sound goes wonky.

So, I tried a new approach. I went to Manage Storage Devices and pressed "Clear local saved games". This fixed up the issue, but I was back at the beginning of the game. This pisses me off as I had gotten my character to level 36.

Can this game even work on my XBOX? I have serious doubts about that.

Well, I just learned that if I want the best Starborn armor and ship, I will have to do a total of 11 playthroughs. The first playthrough to get NG, then 10 NGs. Computer users have a shortcut around this, but us console users will have to do all those playthroughs. Uh...no.

Watching my wife play, there is a true buggy mess of a Bethesda game desperately trying to get out.

Me? Everything about it says I should love it, but I just can’t stay engaged, it is just so dull to me.

It can be dull, but the dullness is what attracted me to the game. Walking across endless tracts of empty land is relaxing for me, as it is a sedative for my anxiety. I had explored the Sol, Alpha Centauri, and Toliman systems, and was in the process of exploring the Procyon A system. However, the issues with audio became worse and I noticed that they began after my character was killed. This issue has to do with the saved games files, which means if I begin again I could have the same issues arise later. Do I want to spend the time playing this game, working to where I was before only for me to have to quit because the audio issues appear again?

I have uninstalled the game. I don't want to spend more time with the game, knowing that it has the audio issues and, as the issues are connected with the save files, it is probably certain that they will appear again.

I’m actually fine with this part of the game, it is the quests and characters I find dull.

I think the last game that Bethesda put any effort into the quests and characters was Skyrim. Afterwards, they came to the conclusion that the players weren't interested in the quests and would do their own thing, so why should they be bothered with making interesting quests. So, we got Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and, now, Starfield with their uninteresting quests and characters.

The faction quests are good, but most of the others aren’t sadly. im 3 days in at level 40 and I’m running out of fun missions to do. I might just finish the last main mission, jump universe and start over again as a Starborn. I’m guessing but that’s what I think “new game plus” is.
