Do we really need Spoiler tags in a thread which is marked as Spoilers, surely they shouldn't be needed and you enter a your own peril.

Barring a saggy side quest I think this sits nicely in the #3 spot of the franchise behind ANH and ESB. It has moments of sheer awe and beauty to match anything in those two films, but perhaps tries to go too much for everyone and suffers slightly for it.

Every single second with Luke was perfect and they dynamic between Rey and Kylo brilliantly realised.

Silly can not wait to see it again. Roll on Boxing Day.

Hugo - dusts debris off his shoulder

I need to see it again.........I was so intent of paying attention to the story I missed ANY call backs or Easter Eggs. The last 45 mins had me on the edge of my seat. I had no idea how shit was going to end..........that was nice not to KNOW what was going to happen.

I know what you mean, I actively avoided most sites where they would be spoilers and haven't even ventured ino this sub-forum since more or less Rogue One.

I managed to go the year following the release of the first teaser trailer. Even hiding in my hoodie, fingers in my ears during trailers at the cinema.

Hugo- totally worth it

I liked the saggy side quest and the fact that
the plan didn't work in the end. Though it also has one plot hole: how did the hacker/traitor knew to look for cloaked transports, since not even all the people on board the cruiser knew about the new plan?

The sequence was generally fine and added a much needed layer to the us vs them dimension that has held up the franchise since ANH, but I feel it stretched a little long and dragged the films general momentum down.

This opinion may change upon rewatch.

Hugo - Still a little in awe of Hamill's performance, which is probably the finest in the entire saga thus far

Hamill was simply amazing that IS for sure................my only WTF moment was.........
Leia in space..........

I actually thought that was one of the more beautiful moments in the film.

Clearly, she is strong in the Force and gained some training from Luke during his time as a teacher. But given Fishers death, when she ripped out into space my heart got ripped out too...

Anyways, we wouldn't be SW fans without having our differences!

Hugo - ;)

I'm interested in seeing people's initial reactions to the movie without being spoilt. Maybe a non spoiler thread needs setting up as this is the only place I can see the initial reactions at the moment.

True and it WAS beautiful......just a stretch.

Absolutely loved it. I was a little disappointed with TFA on first viewing, though enjoyed it more on subsequent watches. But was hooked with this one all the way through. It is possibly a bit overlong but had great twists, action, comedy and character dynamics.

I’m going to see it again on Saturday and will better judge it then.

That sounds like the best solution, so those that want to freely discuss the movie can do so in this thread, whilst you can have another thread for a non-spoiler discussion of the film.

BTW Snoke went down like a punk . I would have loved to known more about him. Like his back story ? Was he a sith or a dark side Jedi.

I don't really want to go see it any more, otherwise I would provide that...Yeah, I know this is a spoiler thread, but I've avoided them as much as possible and most press stuff.

Having read the Leia novel I was excited to see Amilyn Holdo in the movie but she wasn’t used much. A bit disappointed in that.
