There is someone so retard as Hux in any of the previous movies? That scene dialogue with Poe was to be funny? Oh, it was very forced!!

And a group of Imperial ships persuing the Rebel ship by hours?? Why no other Imperial ship came from hyperspace from the other side to attack the rebels?

And what kind of shit Luke gave to Rey as a treinament? Just a few hours?

Bad, really bad!

Even when trying to be funny, it don´t goes right a lot of times. There are good moments, sure, but I think the bad moments surpasses the good ones by a large margin.

Oh yeah, I forgot about how often it tried to be funny and didn't really hit the mark. A few bits were funny though, but usually not the jokes. I liked the look Ben shoots at Hux when he repeats his orders. :)
There were some good gags, but there were more bad ones. It felt at times like Johnson was putting in things just to get a reaction out of the audience, any kind of reaction. Luke's casual dismissal of the lightsaber was one of them, the milking scene and the "am I on hold" scenes also spring to mind.

His X-Wing was in the sea and had been there likely for many years.

We have rust-resistant metals today and means to protect metals from rust. Also, the Millennium Falcon sat on [Not!Tatooine] for numerous years, as I understand it far longer than Luke was on that planet, without suffering any structural, body, or mechanical damage. I think an X-Wing would've survived.

On this movie....

As much as I'm on "this" side of things, I kind of was annoyed with the "Fuck the 1%" thing in the movie. And Poe's "annoyed guy on hold" bit seemed a bit.... "anachronistic" or even "anagalactic"/"anauniversetic" for Star Wars.

Moments like the "On hold" bit felt very much like they were trying to be, "How would JJ have handled this moment?"

Which is why it was the wrong lightsaber. He carried HIS lightsaber for decades, but his self-image (seemingly modeled to look like he did the last time he encountered Ben) is holding Anakin's.

The USAF maintains aircraft in the Arizona desert in a "mothball" state because of low humidity. They have brought them back in service and stolen parts off of them after being there for 20 plus years. Saltwater on the other hand can ruin electronics VERY quickly. I think the X-Wing would be toast at this point. :-)

I get what you're saying now. Fair point. I was happy to see both in the film. Maybe they thought it would foreshadow that something wasn't quite right, along with his look. I can let that slide a bit easier than the surviving in the vacuum of space bit. Overall I enjoyed it, but there were a few moments that I did not.

My assumption is that it was supposed to signify his acceptance of the burden that Rey was offering him, but as a symbol it never really rose to that level for me.

We're still talking about futuristic technology, I'd think rust-resistant metals and non-hydrophobic electronics would be available.

Jedis were turned into cousins of superman!!
See? You don´t need to think a lot to find bad things in this movie.
I think this is one of the worst movies in the franchise!
Eh, it doesn't take much to tear apart any film when you're determined to.

Futuristic tech won't be subject to decay? No.

It doesn't really matter anyway. He didn't use the X-Wing, and very likely intended never to do so. It may have been more trashed than just dropped in the drink.

The Leia as Superman thing was terrible. Not denying that. But its a silly thing to base all criticism of the film on. The film HAS problems. They could have cut about fifteen minutes from it. It drags in the middle. Some characters are underutilized. There are a few effects shots that I wasn't totally convinced on. Apparently they should have made a bigger deal about space rust and whether or not Luke galvanized his X-Wing or not.

You can criticize a film and still find it enjoyable, beautiful and a nice addition to the franchise.

- Some great humor, especially from Hux hamming it up. First Star Wars movie to poke fun at itself.

- Great FX for Snoke. And I remember people speculating that he was actually a little guy, which is why he projected his head so big. Guess not.

- I thought that the code breaker would turn out to be Lando. Johnson said that he had no place in the film but he could have filled del Toro's role.

- The transport vessel going to lightspeed and slicing through Snoke's ship and others in the fleet got gasps from the audience and one guy said "that was so cool!" I agreed and thought to myself, yeah, that was cool!

- Loved Rose. Great character. Unusual name. ;)

- Where do we go from here with so many threads wrapped up? And what's Rey's role in the Skywalker saga? Can't wait to find out.

Are you willing to say the same thing about the Jedi as depicted in the Prequel Trilogy and The Clone Wars? Because using the Force to accomplish things that would otherwise be impossible - such as surviving the vacuum of space and propelling oneself to safety - is something that was established long before now.

Oh, FFS, I mean the execution.

I don't have a problem with the idea in theory. People can survive in a vacuum for a few minutes. Fine. It just looked silly as she, I don't know, floated? back over to the ship.
